    Frontier Airlines out of Provo

Has anybody taken the Frontier flight from Provo to Denver yet? Making a quick day trip to DEN next week and thinking about it.

Everyone I've talked to who has taken that flight loves it. Easy in and out of that little airport.

Did it last month. Worked out great for me.

My daughter has taken it with her fiance and he takes it a lot. Nothing but good reports. Very convenient for those in Utah Valley.

I love it. Just booked three flights for October.

Good to hear. I'll give it a shot. My choices are DL at 6:40AM out of SLC or the 8:00 flight out of Provo. Duh.

Last time I flow out of Provo I talked to a lot of people from Salt Lake Valley that drive down because to avoid the hassle of the SLC airport. You park your car (for free) and walk across the pavement to enter the terminal. Since there is only one flight, the line through security is never long. When you land, by the time you get down the ramp and walk to the curb, they usually have your luggage there (assuming you check something). You walk 30 seconds to your car and off you go.

It would be great if they added another flight or two per day.

Also, PVU->DFW round trip is ~$240 typically. Cha-ching.

Hmm... do these go through Denver?

I flew frontier once and there was heavy snow storm in Denver. After circling around for a while we had to land in Scottbluff, NE to get fuel. It was like landing in the middle of a corn field. We had to wait for a hour or two for the fuel truck to show up.

I got there around 7:15-20 and it was still another 15 minutes until we boarded.

Reminds me of the Rochester MN airport -- those small airports tend to be very informal and friendly. And yeah nobody even asks which flight you are taking, kind of strange.

Hassle of SLC? Let's see: from Holla-whatever it's a solid 20 minutes to SLC. You're dropped off...or heaven forbid, park across the street from the terminal, endure a five minute walk, wait in line for 30 minutes (at worst) and done. You return home from your trip with a standard 5 minute walk to the parking structure and 20 minute drive home. Total of 75-85 minutes.

Vs. driving to Provo, which takes 45 minutes. 10 minutes to park and to the gate. Return is equal. Total of 110 minutes. Plus, it's PROVO. blech.

Are you sure you don't "sprint like Usain Bolt" to your car in 30 seconds?

Yep, I think it only makes sense for people in the south end of Salt Lake County where the drive to Provo is only a little bit longer.

This is also why I like to fly to Long Beach when I can when going to SoCal. Same thing there.
