For those of you who frequented his shop during your BYU or UVU years.

Ken was a legend and master luthier. He built the best acoustics I've ever played. He sold me several instruments as well as servicing my acoustics. We used to talk for hours about guitars. I got my original inspiration to start building from him.

RIP Ken.

I'm sorry your buddy's gone. A buddy of mine who is also a luthier asked me if I would "mind" keeping his bass guitar, amp, and speaker in my house until the middle of August while he moves. He dropped it off this morning. Aside from it being gigantic and in the way, I have an empty house and 2 weeks of no kids or wife in front of me to complain about the noise. I've already worked out, sloppily, the bass lines to "Stir It Up" and part of "Seven Nation Army."

I still can't figure out how to mute the strings I've just played so that the sounds don't all blur together. The tips of my fingers are numb.

Actually Ken would have appreciated the humor. He was a bit of a hippie but seemed to walk the line between his views and UC culture with ease.

So, I can now play along to all of "Stir It Up," "Undone: The Sweater Song," and most of "Seven Nation Army."

The tip of my left index finger is permanently numb. But, I'm having fun. Bass is much more fun than a guitar for me. I might have to buy one once my friend comes to get his.

I didn't see this before. I still have my Yamaha accoustic that I bought from his store, 20 years ago. I don't remember who the salesperson was, but they gave me a good deal when I traded in my electric Ibanez guitar.

Alright, so I'm trying to convince my wife, my mother, and my sister to all go in and get a guitar for my daughter Marley for Christmas. Jack got drums for his birthday, and now Marley is sure that guitar is what she wants. She requested one that's turquoise in color, so, does anyone know about this "Luna" brand of guitar?
