Two guys in my hood committed suicide last week.

One of them was extremely calculated, left his wife and two daughters separate notes. Shot himself in the heart so he could still have an open casket. His wife said it didn't matter what anyone said or did, nobody could convince him that the world wasn't better off without him in it. He suffered from severe depression and anxiety. Because of Crohns disease he had zero life insurance.

Second guy was supposed to close on his brand new house last Monday, he did it on Friday night. He was the CEO of a pretty big (for UTah) clothing company, left behind his wife and 5 kids. Again no life insurance. His company is actually paying his salary for the next 5 years. Same thing, suffered from severe depression and anxiety.

I, too am curious about the CEO without life insurance. Any clue as to why he didn't have any?

I haven't listed to that talk. However, most articles I've read indicate that by far the biggest percentage spike, has been in college-educated, white middle-class males i.e. CougarStadium.com

I’m not sure. Could be the policy was to new to pay out for suicide. But i honestly don’t know. Just that he didn’t have any.

I've lost a couple of people whom I went to grad school with to suicide. I was pretty close with one of them. Alcohol was a factor in both. Can be a nasty drug.

Yes, indeed. I had a neighbor that seemed to have everything going for him but alcohol started to take over his life. One day he just went out to his garage and shot himself. Left a couple of young kids and a good wife.
