Really? This hasn't been my experience. The Xbox 360 and WiiU are both extremely simple and way better than Chromecast, which does work just fine in a pinch, but syncing is a PITA.Originally posted by falafel View PostMost video game consoles have crappy UI (for TV/streaming services)."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! My smart tv can't get through a netflix movie without a "content error". If the tv apps worked as smoothly as my chromecast does, this device would be completely unnecessary, but they haven't, not even close. Another thing that is nice about them, though probably not worth the money as the sole reason for purchase, is the remote function. With my smart tv apps, if I want to search for a youtube video it takes forever just to type a sentence on the number pad. These sticks are also cool because you can travel with them as long as you have a good internet connection where you're going.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postthis is where i was. dont understand why people are buying it, but then i realized some people still have old TVs or dont have streaming capability on all their current TVs so i stopped judging the less fortunate and found joy in their new-found happiness.

I dont get it either. the Puffy Check can hop on their fave apps with ease via the xbox. i also like the plex functionality, as well.Originally posted by Commando View PostReally? For one, I like that the Roku is always on. No way am I leaving my xbox on all day. But that's a minor point. Really its about not having all the extra stuff that an xbox has crammed into the UI, having to buy the xbox remote (or end up using the controller), having a big box taking up space, etc.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postturn on console, click on netflix shortcut, pick movie. is there a better way out there??
I have enough game consoles to put at each TV, but I don't necessarily want a game console at each TV.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

$180 a month?!? What up, moneybags!Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostFor the first time in my life, I feel like a old time geezer. This is my guess. You guy's don't have cable TV and you're trying to get the same service I inherently have for my $180/month. Is that close?"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

i agree on not running the xbox all day and also on the remote. not a huge fan of using the xbox controller to navigate movies. im trying to simplify my media. for me, buying an additional device doesnt accomplish that goal for me since i already have the functionality i need. I also ditched my apple TV for the same reason. it was basically pointless for me. i just run everything through my game console.Originally posted by falafel View PostFor one, I like that the Roku is always on. What, exactly, is inherent about your possession of cable service? Was the need for extended cable passed on from your grandfather, to your father, to you? If not, I do not think that word means what you think it means.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostFor the first time in my life, I feel like a old time geezer. This is my guess. You guys are trained seals. I post something fun, and ya'll pull out your aces and play them.
DH, I was going for the meaning of inherently as - inseparably - natively - naturally, as part of my big boy cable package. I know you knew my intent, but you got cocky on your premature red flag challenge.
The ruling on the field stands.Last edited by clackamascoug; 10-27-2014, 11:34 PM.
