As I have said on here previously, the shirts are above-average quality. Not quite as nice as what you'll get with a Nordstrom Smartcare (but a NOrdstrom smartcare is $70-80), but definitely a step up from what you'll get at Express for a similar price (or more) and a huge step up from the stuff at big box retailers like JC Penney, Sears, Kohls, etc. Also, you get to select an exact sleeve length, which is nice for guys like me who fall between the standard 34/35 and 36/37 off-the-shelf sleeve lengths.

The best part about this deal is the high-quality, silk woven tie; you would probably pay anywhere from $75-100 for a comparable tie at upscale retailers like Dillards, Nordstrom, etc.

Anywho, for those of you who spend more than 30 seconds per year thinking about what shirts to buy, here's your chance.

NOTE: The shirts come in regular, slim, and extra slim. "Regular" will fit a fat dude; "slim" will fit an average dude, even if he has some girth around the middle. "Extra slim" will fit anyone who doesn't have a noticeable gut. I mostly say this to let the average dudes know that they don't need a regular, they need a slim.
PLus you can customize many of the selections with buttoned cuffs (the default often being French cuffs), different collars, etc. I agree CT shirts on sale are a pretty good deal.
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

For the purposes of my post, I'd say between 30 and 40 lbs (30 for the guys under 5'8", 40 for the guys over 6'2") over what this chart says is "large".

To put it in perspective, I am 6'1" 187, which puts me toward the upper end of the "large" category on this chart. I initially ordered slim shirts, and while they look nice, I found the sleeves and body to be just a bit looser than I preferred. My subsequent orders have been extra slims, which fit perfectly. Using my height (6'1") as the constant, someone who weighed up to 205 would still fit comfortably in a "slim". Extrapolating that further, I think a regular would fit a 6'1" fellow up to 225-230.

The good news for the undecideds is that CT's return policy (free!) and customer service are both excellent.

While that is one of my favorite parts of custom ordering shirts, I didn't include that in my post because many of these shirts only have one collar available. So where normally you could apply any collar to any shirt, a number of these are already classified as "spread collar only." That said, the website is easy to use and you can narrow down your choices by checking the type of collar, etc.

You are correct, however, that all of these shirts have the option of a button cuff (but without a gauntlet button, sadly) or a french cuff.

                • All the guys in my ward that wear slim fit shirts also seem to have sweat stains in the arm pits. Just saying.

Do you have experience with their "non-iron cotton?" How wrinkled does it get?

If you're just looking for a crisp white or blue shirt, the twill non-iron or the royal Panama are both great.

If you want something with more texture, the small gingham check, puppytooth, or superfine check are all very nice and have a woven texture. I have a red and blue small gingham check (looks almost pink from afar) which elicits compliments every time I wear it (including one from falafel yesterday).

For a shirt that can be worn both casually or with a tie the gingham twill or royal twill check both work nicely.

Exactly. It will look as good as pretty much any non-iron coming straight from the dryer. Which is to say, it will look like a non-iron shirt that hasn't been ironed.

I know i've mentioned it a lot, but the Nordstrom Smartcare is a step above, even when it comes to the non-iron aspect. It is one of the few shirts that actually looks good (but not as good as if it had been professionally laundered and pressed) straight from the dryer. I know this because, while I generally have all my shirts laundered, there have been times when, in a pinch, i've had to wash/dry my own shirt and didn't have time to iron.
