    *Update*

I do have a Banana Republic Slim Fit shirt. It's ok, I guess, but it fits like a normal shirt, not a Slim Fit. I swear this brand is making shirts for dudes w guts.

I have always known you to be gutless, but I didn't expect you to admit as much on CUF.

Definitely go for Nordstrom. Call the one in your area and make an appointment with a personal stylist for Men's Half-Yearly. You'll get incredible deals and you'll have someone who will take the very best care of you. It's free of charge, and I really think it's the best way to shop. They do all of the work (sometimes will even prepare a room for you), and don't be afraid to tell them that you're not looking to spend over 50$ on a shirt (or whatever you decide). When you call Nordstrom, ask to speak with the Customer Relationship Manager. He or she will get you connected with the right person.

The reason I recommend Nordstrom over others is that they don't have a return policy, so if something doesn't work out right with a garment, you will have no problem returning it, regardless of what it is. The John W. Nordstrom shirt sounds like the best fit for you.

I think that is the most expensive tshirt i've ever seen, and it's on sale! I paid $40 for a t-shirt once and thought I was being pretty foolish.
            well, it is a D&G...

I second the thoughts about this thread. Bring on more fashion threads! (haha punny)

I went into Last Chance today, and it was way picked over- probably b/c of the Holiday season. Anyway, I did find a Nordstrom shirt to my specifications, "tailor fit," which seems pretty nice so far, if not a little more conservative than a slim fit. I'll see. I also picked up a belt and took a chance on a casual shirt for $10 that could easily turn out to be lame, but no big deal if it is, I guess.

I liked the slacks selection and found a pair of Hugo Boss pants that I really liked until I noticed a hole in the seat.

I tried the shoe rack, and they have a plethora of S. Perry topsiders. They also had some sick leather chuck taylor low tops that I would have scored, but the soles were coming unglued. weird. The shoes really looked like they had been tried on and walked around in outside.

Conclusion-- This has potential-- I'll try again in January and hope things look better.

A friend returned a skirt from the 80s that still had the tags on it. They will take ANYTHING, even if it's been worn.

                      .
The last company worked for gave us a clothing budget and we had a personal stylist that did this very thing for us. It was easily my favorite thing about Nordstrom. She was very attractive which didn't hurt the experience.

If I have to dress myself I prefer Dillards.

This explains some of the shoes in Last Chance

I bought a regular white dress shirt there in about 1997. I wore it a long time, probably until about 2003, when the seam on the front pocket came undone. Hearing stories about the return policy, I took it back to see if I could a new one (it didn't hurt that I was a broke law student at the time). I told her that when I bought it, I was told that if anything went wrong with the shirt I could return it. She looked at me like I was an idiot. She offered to have the pocket re-sewn, but no way was she giving me a new shirt.

Yeah, it can definitely be hit or miss, but when you hit, you really hit.

The shoes are definitiely returns. Some of them you would think should go straight to the incinerator, but then some look like they've never been worn. You just have to be patient and you can score some major deals. All but 1 of the 8 or so pairs of dress shoes that are in my current rotation are from last chance.
