Reviving an old thread rather than start a new one about Kindle Fire. That's how you're supposed to do it here, right?

I bought a 10" refurbished Kindle Fire a couple of weeks ago because my wife wanted a tablet and I didn't want to spend more than I would for a whole desktop computer for it. Refurbished it was $120 for a 32GB device. Looks same as new to me. The important thing was that I can load videos, pictures, and music onto it, then play them anywhere regardless of connectivity. Still haven't tried using it with the five year olds in our primary class yet.

But the issue that I have is that I've tried to install all of the LDS apps and they all work except LDS Tools. I can look at the scriptures, logged in to my LDS account, and it has all of my highlighted verses same as anywhere else. But LDS Tools won't let me log in. I've been going back and forth with the people responsible for LDS Tools in Salt Lake without success. Uninstalling it, and doing a few other things that they've suggested don't fix the issue.

So I'm asking here: are any of you able to get LDS Tools to work for them on a Kindle?

Are you getting it from the amazon app store or sideloading it?

Amazon App store. Otherwise you can only get Android apps, and those are incompatible with the Amazon Kindle, even though it is based on Android. Google made sure that you either do it their way, licensed by them, or you're (e.g., Amazon) completely on your own for software.

What I had done with a older Kindle, so who knows if it works now.

Install ES File explorer. This allows you to see the actual storage on the device and see files that you download.

Find in the settings of the device where it says allow 3rd party application installation. Or something like that.

Then download the latest LDS tools apk and then install.
