Not a bad way to pay for college I guess.
The 13-year-old is netting roughly $24,900 per week from track sales of her surprise hit song

This sounds a lot like any number of songs/singers that come from the Disney channel. Really no better and not much worse.

People want to pay her for the song? Good for her!

People want to bash her because they think the song is bad? What the hell is wrong with them? Are these the same people who continue going to the same restaurant that they complain has horrible food and service?

If you don't like it, who is forcing you to listen to it? Just don't!

Making the Justin Beiber leap - they mentioned this briefly on the radio during my drive in this morning. I wasn't sure what the big deal was until seeing it here. Apparently Justin has asked her if she wants to do a duet with him...

She's laughing all the way to the bank.

The black guy's cameo in the middle of the song is pretty sweet. It fits in really well with the rest of the song and video.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

You're wrong. Armeggedon It. Definitely not the worst ever and pretty close to being top of the middle best songs ever.

I will continue to mock her and that song. Show business is hard, cold and unforgiving. We wouldn't be doing her any favors by coddling her.

This makes me think of that Peyton Manning TV ad where he is hanging out at offices trying to high five or get the autograph of accountants, etc.

I only hope someone is equally concerned about the bagger at the local grocery or the newspaper delivery kid learning about life. Maybe someone should follow them around and critique their job performance. Don't coddle them - they might get the idea that life is easy...

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that if people who don't like the song or the singer simply ignored them - the poor singer of a bad song would get the message.

I'm not sure when such a large group of people determined to take upon themselves the role of Simon on American Idol.

And really - if it is so important to protect the world from sucky music and singers - who dropped the ball when U2 was getting started and allowed them to keep going???

When I heard that song on the radio, I was convinced it was a spoof/parody. Seeing the video just confirms that for me.

If I could somehow do that via the anonymity of the intertubes I would.

She's beautiful and I hate her for it.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I wish I would have seen this earlier in order to tell you that you wouldn't know the worst music if it kicked you in the backside. And that makes me sad for you.
