    Financing for auto loan

    Anyone here have good luck with auto financing online? What shop did you use? If not, did you just go with your own bank?

    Auto rates right now look pretty good....1.99-2.99 OAC.

    Also, if you go the online route, how long does it take? Can you get it done within 2 days, including signatures?

      We just purchased a new, to us, mini van last night and went with our credit union - it took about 15 minutes - 2.99%

          At the dealership. But sometimes credit unions can beat those rates.

            Heres how it works

            Lets say America First is lending at 3.5%. You can get that rate from them personally, or you can run the paperwork through a dealership and get that same 3.5%.

            So why does the dealership want you to use their finance department? America First will kick back as much as 1% of that loan to the dealership for processing the paperwork and for using them for the loan in the first place.

            Its a mistaken belief that money costs more at the dealership. Also, if your great "friend" at the bank or credit union encourages you to work directly with them, it's because they would get that 1% kick rather than the dealership.

                      Yes, HatchCo in on Ft. Lane - We've known the owner for years, my wife and one of my brothers went to HS with him, and he gave us a pretty good deal - $3000 below book

                        I thought that it got wiped out with the new interchange there. I delivered auto parts to them when I worked at Toyota of Ogden one summer after my mission. They seemed like good folks. I am glad that you got a good deal

                          My 1967 GTO was purchased from Hatch Auto in 1989.

                          It was sold in 1999.
