For those in the market to buy a sword

Might I suggest the Two Handed Great Sword:

Also, I'm not sure it's possible to be a sword guy without also being a Dungeons & Dragons guy.

I've always wanted a sword or two. Plus maybe a shield and some armor. Throw in a nice battle axe and morning star while you're at it.

Not being a LARPer or SCA member I could never bring myself to pay that much money for something that would ultimately just sit there. No matter how cool it looks while just sitting there.

Wow, there's some really strange demos in there. I love how they stuffed the boots with meat just to show you that if you ever wanted to cut off the feet of a cowboy then this is your sword. The attack on the cow skull drove home the point that death by sword could really hurt.

I feel like we have no real benchmarks for sword effectiveness these days. It took him three whacks to get through that side of beef. Is that good? I would think two whacks would be better. One is optimal, of course, but that's a lot of beef.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that sword was probably bent pretty good after the dude got down doing pull ups with it? Notice they cut away before he finishes.

I liked the part where the stocky gentleman with a tie cut through, I think a bundle of sticks, and comments on how effortless it was while simultaneously huffing and puffing due to the effort exerted.

Which begs the question, what is the proper cutting-things-with-a-sword attire for the modern gentleman? I don't feel the video answered that critical question.

Wow weird. I also think swords are pretty awesome, but wasn't impressed by any of those demos. The sword just didn't seem very sharp. It probably didn't help that they decided a short pudgy guy was a good choice for their spokes-wielder. Where's Fabio when you need him?

First you get the sword, then you get the pig. You don't want that think decomposing in your garage while you wait for the sword to arrive.

I love how the guy splits the pig's head and then he looks at the camera with his sword blade resting on the cut spot as if to say "yea, that's right, I did that."

I think my favorite is that they staged all this inside the styrofoam castle at Celebration Station. I'm surprised they didn't head outside and level all the moonbounces while they were at it...maybe bisect a couple of miniature golf flags...
