I should probably compile a list. Several years ago (and multiple stops since then) I counted up being pulled over more than 20 times, though not all stops resulted in tickets.

But there is still a fine for not having them in your car at all times, evidently. I believe a judge has the discretion to reduce fines if you can produce the stuff, but the spirit apparently didn't prompt my former home teacher to use such discretion.

My wife once got a ticket heading north on I-15 into Beaver. Everybody knows the place, it is always patrolled heavily...

She was going 64 in a 55. It is IMPOSSIBLE to go 55 on that road, it is just too slow.

        It is now a 75 80 (!) mph road.

That ticket is something like $500 up here, which is ironic because the state can't hardly bring itself to prosecute auto theft (and GTA does NOT count against the 3 strikes law).

My last 3 tickets have all come on 21st S in SLC, near Sugarhouse Park. Speed limit it 30 and cops hang out every day handing out tickets.

...and knowing that you still get caught and pay the stupid tax. Didn't you go to Highland as well? I HATE speeding tickets!

My wife just yesterday had to pay the stupid tax on a red light camera ticket she got a few weeks ago. $124! Looking at the camera, the light changed red AFTER the bumper was well over the white line and into the intersection, but the judge didn't care.

About 15 yrs ago my wife got a speeding ticket on I-15 south just before St George on 'Spring Break' weekend. We were newlyweds and the $65 ticket was extremely painful to pay, but she dutifully sent a check anyway. Three months later they sent a letter asking if she would send another ticket, as they forgot to cash the check! When they called her, she told them to 'get bent'.

When I moved back to California after driving in Utah I had problems on the boulevards. They are as wide as freeways, and invariably had a speed limit of 30 mph. My intuition would always tell me the speed limit should be 55, but the cops disagreed!

So I plan on moving cross country with 3 month expired registration, registration sticker is lower left corner of windshield vs. the usual license plate so harder to notice. Should I be worried about getting anything worse than a ticket?

I'd make sure your insurance is current. I've found that police in other states aren't as concerned about your expired registration as a public liability than... well.. a moving liability.

Will putting scripture tape in get you out of ticket. My brother did that once. Got pulled over twice in same day. 1st officer didn,t give him ticket. Second time drove pass cop on Blue Lakes in Twin and stuck thumb out window telling him to slow down. Go ticketed there. Officer was on call. Had uncle tell neighbor cop complaining about stop sign just give me the damn ticke don,t lecture me and drive a mile to his house. Didn,t lke the stop sign were it was.

There are a couple stop signs in town there to please city council yewts too. Pain every time. Brother coming home after three overtime win in Rockland freaked out over license expiration and did not stop because cop in blm car. Spent some time in slammer.

Same week stalled car and brother in High School went around street and cousin drove fast on another road and homeowner thought they were racing. Got ticketed a few days later. Judge dismissed it as brother was reaction to car stopped in front of him.

When I was kid asked sheriffs daughter when her dad worked so I knew when best to break every traffic law and what streets to get away with it at. Driving 75 on a 25. Reckless there. Going to 2001 utah game brother weaves in and out got pulled over by up but he let him off.

I recognized the cop and I'm sure he recognized me--he was from a neighboring town and I had dated his niece in high school--but he wasn't too happy with me and wasn't interested in small talk. He gave me a ticket and my insurance premium shot through the roof I'm sure because of my speed and age (I was 22).
. I might know who you are talking about if it could be who I think it is. He is no longer ISP. But when he was if he saw someone he knew on highway would pull them over and say how does it feel to be pulled over for fun. Freaked a few people out.
