SIck to your stomach as in you haste violence or sick to your stomach as in motion sickness? I experience the latter on some games.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View Posthttp://videogames.yahoo.com/events/7...-world/1285449
I never played most of these games. I have a hard time with the shooter games as they make me sick to my stomach. I love GH and Wii sports can be entertaining.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

1. Pong.....we had a Pong Machine in our home. I was really young so my older bro and sis had most of the playtime on it. But our place was hang-out central for several months until more neighbors started picking up the machines.
Does everyone rememer the old video game systems....you would connect them to the UHF/VHF inputs (two metal screws) via this black metal box. The box had a switch/lever that allowed you to choose between "game" and "TV."
2. Pac Man......as a child of the 80s, I had Pac Man fever. We skipped classes the day that Ms Pac Man came out and headed over to Pizza Hut to eat pizza and play the game.
3. Doom....I was in college and into girls by this time. Internet access was not widespread so there was no real way for me to play this game. I actually have never played it.
4. Dance Dance Revolution...I have only played this game once, it isnt for me. But I don't think there has ever been a better vehicle (including karaoke) to make skinny asian teenage boys to look cool to all their peers. I don't know what it is about asians and DDR, but they are the unquestioned kings of the eletronic dance floor.
5. World of Warcraft.....never played, no interest in playing. Blizzard is our client, though, so every time I have been out to Blizzard for a meeting, I have to pretend that I think it is cool. The Blizzard HQ building here in Irvine is a mecca for pimply nerds that want to take their pic out front.
6. Guitar Hero....played this one, but ditched it for the Rock Band franchise the first day Rock Band came out. I think that was Thanksgiving break 2 years ago.
7. Wii Sports....I am not a huge fan of the Wii because the games are not great and the controller thing gets old. The Wii is a great party game, though and has mass appeal to all ages, so it gets a thumbs up overall.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

How is Goldeneye not included in this list?"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum

1. Pong - First game I ever played. We were late on that bandwagon.
2. Pac-Man - played it but have nothing to say.
3. Doom - I won a tournament at BYU, which is kind of funny if you think about the all the satanic themes.
4. DDR - played it in Japan and stateside a time or two, but never really got that into it.
5. WoW - yeah, I have enough to do without flushing my life down the toilet. The South Park episode was hilarious, though.
6. GH - Eschewed for Rock Band, but I am so good I am embarrassed.
7. Wii Sports - meh.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

DDR's inclusion on this list is a sham. Nintendo's Track and Field with the action pad was 15 years ahead of DDR as far as getting a "workout" while playing a video game. Also, DDR is boring.
Also, leaving Super Mario Bros. out is ridiculous. Nintendo was the stepping stone between Atari and our game systems today, and every nintendo came with Super Mario Bros. Who among us can't identify with that adrenaline rush the first time you faced off against Bowser?!Last edited by Donuthole; 02-10-2009, 12:59 PM.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

Pong to Pac-Man is a pretty big leap. Space Invaders needs to fill that gap.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

everyone who was in college when that game was out wasted way too much time on that game.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI was wondering the same thing. I thought this would be top 3. I think the leap makes sense. Space Invaders was a classic, as was Pac Man.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostPong to Pac-Man is a pretty big leap. Space Invaders needs to fill that gap.
But while Pong introduced the world to in-home gaming and the really to gaming in general, Pac Man was the first game to show the potential commercial viabilty of video games. Space Invaders was not a marketing juggernaut. Pac Man was everywhere.....cartoons, clothes, Top 40 radio, even that delicious tasty breakfast cereal! Pac Man brought video games out of the pizza parlors and arcades and onto Wall Street.
I wish I had a nice bowl of PacMan cereal right now.

Goldeneye? What did that game do that hadn't been done before? It was just immensely popular, no? Is that the game that broke ground by bringing FPS games to consoles? I think Goldeneye did its thing while I was on the mission, so I missed it.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI was wondering the same thing. I thought this would be top 3. Yep. FPS and the 4-player split screen. My freshman year of college (97-98) i had three friends fail out of school because they played this game so much.
