        I know you are. I don't think you can do it. The phenomenon is complex and deeply rooted, and I think you're best saying as little as possible. If you insist on saying something or trying to help, ask the university counselor what the best approach is.

            Fair enough. I'll do that, but I think I made the counselor cry once too.

                I just emailed the counselor asking for a time to get together over "coffee" to talk about this. It was good advice.
