If you are ever around Ogden, check out Mi Puebla on 26th. No mexi's getting drunk. Owner is from Puebla and moved to Utah after he joined the church. When I left Utah he was just made branch president. Their mole is ridiculous. They also own the panaderia adjacent to restaurant.

Sorry, couldn't find a website for this one. Apparently they have second spot in Layton, but I have no idea what it's like.

Has anyone tried the new Taco Nachos at Jack in the Box? I don't know if it's truly Mexican, but it's drenched in Nacho cheese sauce.

And in the continued tradition of street food going upscale, there's another new place in the neighborhood called "Barrio" which is doing tacos like Smoky Pork Shoulder with golden raisins and sliced almonds and Spiced Duck Confit with dried cherry-ancho salsita. They also have Churros and Xocalatl Chocolate, which are apparently quite delicious, so I think I'm going to check it out for happy hour one of these days. My distaste for the bastardization of Mexican food will have to be put aside for a moment.

The Mrs. and I checked this out the other day. The pork shoulder was a major winner. Second place finisher was the shredded chicken en adobo toasted sesame seeds and queso cotija. The duck confit was also pretty good, though not up to par with the others.

Funny you mention that. I have never been but Gidget and me always crack up driving past it. The Mexican restaurant with the Irish name. It reminds me of Hermano Don Carlos Smith.

For Mexican, we always go to Pancho Villa. Their chile verde and carnitas are awesome.
