Funny phone conversation of the day

I had to call Medicare to discuss some legal issues today. I couldn't find their legal department's direct number, so I called the main number. I was transferred to someone who I assumed would help me, and this is the conversation:
Me: (After explaining the situation a couple times) It's nothing against you--this would just go faster if I could talk to one of the lawyers.
Him: We don't have any lawyers.
Me: Yes, you do. Medicare has to have a huge legal department.
    Him: Oh, you mean Congress!
Me: No, not Congress. I need to talk to the lawyers who sue people, respond to lawsuits, and make sure Medicare is complying with the law.
Him: There are a lot of lawyers in Congress.

    Wow.
    Not that, sickos.

You should have said: Yeah, okay, transfer me there. I'd like to talk to Congress, please.

      Wow.

He is right... there are lots of lawyers in congress. That is the problem.

Why do you suppose there aren't many engineers in congress?

I assume its because we are discriminated against somehow. I feel so violated.

I actually thought about asking him if I should talk to the House or the Senate, but I was in too much of a hurry.

Speaking of Engineers and Scientists, I read in Reader's Digest that even though hard scientists only make up a small fraction of the country's work force, we're responsible for creating 50% of the country's GDP.

Too bad we don't get paid comensurate with our worth.

I have some news for you Binky: without the lawyers protecting your little inventions none of that crap you guys are making out in the garage is worth diddly. And when it is stolen, without the lawyers you cant get damages for the theft.

Oh, I suppose you could handle those disputes without us. Get a bunch of you guys in a room and throw pocket protectors at each other until somebody breaks a slide rule. That should do it.
              PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Typical lawyer comment. Someone has a positive comment about a certain group, didn't say anything bad about lawyers, didn't even mention them (apparently that was the problem) and some ambulance chaser has to jump in spouting lawyer propaganda.

Yeah, we get it. Even though you don't produce anything, even though you have a parasitic role in our society, even though you represent idiots that don't know coffee is a hot beverage, lawyers still occasionally do good things here and there. OK, we get it. Thank you. Anything else?
