Patsy's in East Harlem? That's the original and best of the Patsy's stores. A well done slice from their window stacks up against anything the city has to offer. Some claim Patsy's originated the concept of selling pizza by the slice. Patsy Grimaldi learned his craft working at his uncle Patsy's place in Harlem. Uncle Patsy learned his craft at Lombardi's. Lombardi's is not my favorite, but you have to respect the pizza lineage.

What they are serving at Juliana's is much closer to what Grimaldi's used to be before Patsy Grimaldi sold it and the new owner's moved to a bigger place next door and opened up stores around the country. Grimaldi's is still good pizza, but to me Juliana's will always be the real Grimaldi's. I'm sure I have written this all elsewhere before but pizza is my jam.

Patsy Grimaldi was one of a kind. We first ate at Juliana's when my wife was 8 months pregnant with our first. then we came back when my daughter was 1 and Patsy claimed to remember us then and every time we were lucky enough to see him after. I'm sure it was an act as he met so many thousands of people but he had a knack for making you feel so welcome. My daughter's first pizza was Juliana's and it ruined her for life.

          • They found out the causes of Gene Hackman and his wife's death

She died of Hanta virus and he of heart failure/advanced alzheimers likely about a week after she did. With his alzhiemers he might not have know she had passed away.

With what my dad is going through, I could see that happening. I'm so glad that all of my siblings live close enough to have one of us checking on him everyday. Four of us live with 3 miles of his home and the other two with in 15 miles

I may be small, but I'm slow.

I pray that he was beyond the point where he may not have known. I hate to think he would have moments of reality and to find her dead and then proceed to have episodes.

              Heartbreaking.

Damn. Should have kept mine from 25 years ago.

It is always sobering when glioblastoma hits a young person. It is essentially always a death sentence.

Folks, here we go again. The fake news media, total disgrace, saying all sorts of things about Val Kilmer—fake, fake, fake! They’ve been lying to you for years, and now they’re at it again, pushing this nonsense. First, they said he had throat cancer—wrong! That was just a role in Top Gun: Maverick. Tremendous performance, by the way. But the media? They don’t care. They lie, they cheat, they fake the whole thing. Disgusting!

But listen, I have to say, if—IF—Val Kilmer really is gone, and it looks like he is, folks, then we lost one of the greats. A legend. Batman Forever, Tombstone, The Doors—nobody did it like Val. I mean, 'I’m your huckleberry'? Maybe the greatest line ever delivered in a movie, people are still saying it. He was strong, he was talented, he was incredible. People loved him, I loved him. Hollywood doesn’t make them like that anymore, folks, believe me.

So, we say goodbye to Val. Very sad. Very unfair. He should still be with us, but he’s up there now, probably quoting Doc Holliday to the angels, and let me tell you, they’re lucky to have him. We miss you, Val. We love you. A total winner, folks. A total winner.

If you have not seen his documentary called “Val”. You can find it on Amazon Prime. I cannot say how good it truly is. A glimpse into his life through all his own videos we has. He has TONS!!

Narrated by his son, produced by both his children. It is a step back into time and truly touching.

Will miss him. He was eccentric but an extremely talented actor who put his all into his work.

                              • He was brilliant in Tombstone.

Because top gun was released when I was so young, I had a real aversion to Val Kilmer. No matter what, all I saw was that a-hole Ice Man. FWIW, I had the same attitude towards Catherine O'Hara (i.e. Kevin McCallister's negligent and unpleasant mother).
