  • The official WORDLE thread (spoiler alert)

I am sick of the spoiler tags in that other thread. I propose we have a dedicated WORDLE thread without spoiler tags. People just need to understand that they shouldn't open it before they solve the daily puzzle.

Agree. I never go in this thread until after I'm done with Wordle for the day anyway.

Do you, too, belong to the club of using the previous day's solution as your opening word? It paid off for me, too (though more colorfully):

              SCARE
              STAIR

My first eagle - in Wordle or in golf, I think. I haven't even had a Wordle birdie yet.

Scoredle says there's only one possible solution after that opening guess, so suddenly the eagle doesn't feel as special.

                IRATE
                TIARA
                STAIR

I feel a little naughty posting this without spoiler tags.

I really only came up with those two words after irate, and figured tiara was more likely since stair is usually used in the plural form.

Birdie. Literally did it in less than a minute.

                      DREAM
                      STAIR

A lucky eagle. I thought I'd need another vowel after the first guess, went with "I." AIR was the first combo I thought of, and went with STAIR instead of FLAIR.

It was meant to be, as yesterday we had my 50th HS Reunion golf event. On the par-five 18th, I was five feet off the front of the green in two, and my chip nearly rolled in, but ended up on the backside of the cup for a tap-in bird. A day late but I deserved this!

Just thought I'd try it. Worked out though.

Yes, it got me the eagle today. Not a bad opening word for tomorrow either.
