Your Boss

In my career thus far (albeit fairly brief) in all of the "real" jobs I've held, my boss has been a woman. In 4 of the 5 jobs I've held since graduating, my boss has been a woman. I am just curious to know what the breakdown is for other members on this board.

In my current job, I actually interviewed with a man and would've worked for him had they not shifted the job to a different department with a different direct supervisor.

So, just curious how this breaks down for other working cufers. Is your boss a man or a woman? Also, put what state you work in (as I think that would make a difference).

My last two bosses have been ladies. One had a tech backgound, one didn't. They are currently looking to hire into that position, so I don't really have one right now.

Of the 18 bosses I have had that I could remember (I might be missing one or two short timers), 4 have been women. In order to compensate for this inequity, I hire nothing but good-looking women.

I've never had a female boss (not counting my wife) in all of my decades of working in Utah and California. Managers in the computer hardware field are mostly men, but a lot of women have manager positions with the software groups.

Started out in public accounting, audit, and I'd say half of the manager/directors are women. Probably 90% of the partners are men, but I imagine that'll start to change in the next 10 years.

Then I switched to m&a consulting and almost all the managers/directors are male.

I don't have a strong preference either way, but I'd probably prefer working for men, the women are often too emotional.

I have been with my company just over four years. In that time I have had three different roles and a total of five mangers, two have been female and three male. I am in Dallas Texas.
