The wife and I do this all the time. Its one of my rules for living in Michigan. Anytime Utah is playing within 10 hours I am there. Additionally, When Solon was living in Pennsylvania we met up and went to Baseball games around the region. Additionally, last October some friends and I met up in Vegas for 4 days.

This September she is going to Portland with her mom to visit her sister.

No, 2 days in Fresno wouldn't be enough. How could he pack everything in such a short span of time?
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

If separate vacations are taken in lieu of ever vacationing together, I think it is a problem, but I don't think anyone sees anything wrong with supplemental separate vacations, do they? I'll occasionally go someplace with my son or friends or brothers, usually sports related, and my wife will occasionally go to visit her family alone. We also take one or two trips together each year.

My wife allows me to have one "Man trip" with my brothers. We go to the NCAA Wrestling Championships each year. Share a hotel room and costs etc. It is fun and we get to enjoy great wrestling.

HOWEVER, I always pay a price. By subjecting myself to stay with my in-laws for some holiday.. It usually turns my stomach, but I do love this Man-trip.. So I take one for the team...

I have brought up a yours and Mine mini vacation (To test the waters).. I even talked about how I would take our son on mine and she could go anywhere by herself with friends..

MAN.. That was really dumb of me...

I also like separate vacations when it includes separating my wife and me from the kids.

I also attend any BYU game that is within a days driving distance from my house. HOwever, I make sure and let me wife also have a similar day off without the kids so she doesn't feel excluded from having a good time away from home.

LOL. I see your wife has done a good job of getting you to "Think" you have your balls... Just trying to wake you up to the reality...

In all seriousness.. I get as many man trips I want. So I am content with my trips, and mini weekend adventures etc... I see no need for a separate vacation that needs to be scheduled. I ask and she has no problem with them.. I also does the same..
