4-hour layover in Detroit this coming Monday.

I was thinking about taking a taxi downtown, then taking the bus under the tunnel to Windsor, then going right back to Detroit, then back to the airport. Can I pull it off in a couple hours?

Any other recommendations? Restaurants worth checking out in the city?

I would be careful leaving Michigan for Canadia on a holiday weekend if you are worried about getting back in time to make your plane.

However if you do I remember when the Super Bowl was in Detroit they talked about how easy it was to get female companionship in Windsor. So that is on the table.

Take a cab to Mexicantown and eat at Xochimilco. You won't be disappointed

My guess would be that 4 hours isn't enough time.

I've never been to Windsor, but my understanding is the border can get pretty busy and have some long lines.

I've had highly recommended Mexican food in Michigan. I'm skeptical.

Of course...it's still probably a better use of your time than anything else in Detroit.

Mexicantown is great place for mexican food. You lived here for at least 3 years and never went? You probably never went to greektown either and that sucks you missed out on the good things about detroit

Why leave the airport? There's an AirTrain in the airport you can ride all day, for free! I think there's a Nathan's in the airport as well, great food right there.

There's also a PB&J place down by the low number terminals and they do some good work with PBJ and bacon.
