You won't get to it. We still have boxes that I swear date back to our wedding and we just move them from one attic to another. I have no idea what is in them.

On a note related to the thread title, I have a good friend that got a job offer in the northwest and he listed him home in Houston and got a full price offer the next day. He then flew up to the northwest and bought a home that fit all his criteria and got a contract on it that same week. It sounds like maybe the housing market isn't that bad...based off of this one anecdotal experience.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The most successful decluttering we did was when we moved from Mass to Oregon. Our neighbors were fond of outdoor fires, and we dumped all the crap furniture (which was essentially all of it) and accumulated trash into the bonfire. We then moved the remaining belongings of a family of six in 14 feet of space of a semi trailer.

And then proceeded to accumulate a lot of belongings for the next 18 years. We did another culling last year, but we weren't nearly as efficient with this move as the previous one. We had a large Uhaul and a separate trailer of belongings. But by this time we had furniture, etc. that we weren't ready to throw out. Still, our crawl space is full of stuff we won't likely use again.

Our married kids have asked us to store stuff for them over the years. When some of them got their first home, we have fun bringing over boxes of their stuff and watching them just throw it away. Ha.

We are still the repository of kids’ memorabilia. About 2 rubbermaids per kid. I kind of felt bad getting rid of all those college textbooks but they were obsolete. They didn’t want them anyways. My son is more of a hoarder. We have his Sequoia back seat, clothes, skis, a set of tires, and a bike he will never get around to fixing. And that’s after repeated warnings that we weren’t going to store his stuff…

We have been in Pocatello now for 2 1/2 months and really enjoy it here. The ward has been very welcoming and we like the area. Retirement is great, staying busy but doing everything on my time. Life is good and Trump still sucks.

Eff that, if my kid or stepkids ask me to do that, I’ll tell them to go eff themselves.

Step kids for sure, especially if they are red-headed.
