The round button is awesome now that it has the fingerprint thing. Of all the recent items brought out on the iPhone, the fingerprint reader is my favorite.

          the price is the same.

The fandroids (I have never heard that term before, though I'm guessing it's already out there. The rest of the world is pretty much happy to have a phone that does the 2-3 things they need it to do. So these people who are continually on the search for whatever is the newest really have no standing to be lecturing the people who already have what they want.

Not really. iPhone 6 Plus on contract starts at $299.99. LG G3 (both are 5.5 inch screens so it makes sense to compare the G3 to the Plus)
is $199.99 on contract, but you can frequently find it for less. The Note 3 is at $199.99 and I would expect the Note 4 to come in around $199.99.

I would guess that the majority of people who complain that the iPhone is too 'locked down' only take advantage of their phones' openness to change icon appearances.

The News hit from Google is about iPhone, so it seems even google has figured out that fandroids main interest is what is going on with Apple. In a way doesn't that make them more fapples?

I had a Samsung phone for 4 years. I just went with an LG phone because I think their current phone does the couple things that I want a phone to do better. That isn't jumping around looking for the new thing.

IMO, the reason you want the highest specs when buying a phone is that you are locking yourself in for 2 years (either by contract or if paying non-contract price by paying $600+). I don't want something that is lagging behind because of that term commitment.

Screen and memory have always been a huge downside with Apple products. I do use my phone for music, podcasts, and videos. I don't want to spent an extra $100 to get memory up to 32 gigs. Hell, my current phone came at the lower price point with 32 gigs, plus I can use the micro-SD card that I had from my prior phone to have 48 gigs of storage at the lowest price point for the phone.

Unfortunately here is an article from a year ago, but clever none the less.

People keep phones for 2 years?! I think I just realized I have white privilege.

Never changed the icon appearances, that was locked down with the TouchWiz UI overlay with Samsung. What I don't want is just a grid of applications of my phone, which is why I've customized home pages with widgets, which isn't an option with Apple. I think the majority of Android users utilize widgets.

Also, I think Google Now is fantastic and I would miss that with an iPhone.

My only addition to this thread is that if someone brought me a dish of chocolate and a dish of vanilla ice cream BOTH would get eaten. They're ice cream!!!
