    The Microsoft thing looks amazing
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Maybe so, but did they have the courage to omit a headphone out port?

Omitting the headphone port is a pussy move at this point. It takes real courage to not have any ports to connect iOS devices to Macbook Pros.

                • I'm an Apple fanboy, so this won't come as a surprise, but that Surface Dial seems a bit lame. Of course, I don't spend anytime drawing on my computer with a pencil. Maybe my artist daughter would like it, but it seems targeted at high-end users. Frankly, my home computer is used 90% fo the time to surf the internet, 7% to play music and 2% to play movies and 1% to do some video editing. That's about it.

I'm also not a fan of touchscreens for home devices. I wish apple had a touchscreen on the Macbook Air...but I really like a modifiable bar near the keyboard.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I love TV and computer ads that try to project to you how great the color and brightness are for a display...Through your current crappy display.

That was my impression too. I'm sure in some ways it would be cool to have, but I don't see it yet. They need to market it to me for how I would use it.

                        • Of course it isn't marketed to everyday users.

It's targeted to both. That used to be Apple's bread and butter but no longer. Apple used to innovate this way and that's one of the things that kept them in the good graces of their power users like graphic artists, multimedia producers, and audio engineers. For years they were Apple's power users and probably the biggest proponents of the brand. That's starting to evolve because Apple is now concentrating on the casual user while Microsoft caught up on the OS side and is now becoming more innovative.

How would you use it that's in any way different than how you would use a Mac? The experience really isn't any different for the casual user who mostly clicks on a browser icon and starts surfing the web.
