I've had two other surgeons look at me and all say that I'm not a candidate for surgery. He's only being a good physician. My HIDA scan shows a poor ejection fraction one time, and then normal the next. As such, the surgery is elective, and the insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford $12k."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Do you have pain when you have the HIDA scan? If yes, then acalculous cholecystitis is the Dx and it is not elective. Come to Cedar, there is no such thing as a gallbladder that can't be removed.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostI've had two other surgeons look at me and all say that I'm not a candidate for surgery. No, I don't. I just have the bowel-shaking spasm that the stuff they give you causes. There's no more gallbladder discomfort than normal.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostDo you have pain when you have the HIDA scan? I have an appointment with my surgeon on Monday at 10:45AM. It doesn't matter what I eat now; the pain is constant now, and I'm not really able to cope without pain meds.
I'm praying that the surgeon will take the damned thing out this time. I can't afford another $4k in medical bills (with insurance) to have them do nothing again.
This is going to be a long weekend."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

In all seriousness, I'm in a lot of pain and CUF takes my mind off the pain. If I get snippy with someone, please bring it to my attention. I don't want to bring my misery on anyone else. I'm in hell. Vicodin's just making me sick to my stomach and I can't eat anything. I'm to the point where I don't want to take Vicodin because I don't feel any better when I do. I'm hoping the surgeon will just operate tomorrow. I've got to get some relief. These last 18 months have been hell and I can't take it anymore.

You're scheduled for surgery? Or are you heading to the Emergency Room?Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostI'm in hell. Vicodin's just making me sick to my stomach and I can't eat anything. I have an appointment tomorrow at 10:45AM. It can't come soon enough. I'm not going to the ER because it'll cost me about $3k-$4k to do it that way vs. $700 if I wait and have outpatient surgery.Originally posted by Solon View PostYou're scheduled for surgery? Good luck, I hope they finally take the damn thing out. You have suffered enough with this thing!
I may be small, but I'm slow.

Good luck wuap. I hope that bad boy comes out tomorrow. If you don't need the Vicodin anymore, will you send it to me?

1. It's a felony.Originally posted by SuperGabers View PostGood luck wuap. I hope that bad boy comes out tomorrow. If you don't need the Vicodin anymore, will you send it to me?
2. You really should be careful about what you put in your body (because of what you put in your body a few months ago).
