    "black friday"

Do you / does your spouse get into the black friday thing? I've gone out for the doorbusters every year forever, but I can't decide this year. The sales just keep getting earlier and earlier, and the crowds more and more frenetic. It's pretty crazy and the whole thing seems increasingly unChristmasy. OTOH, the stuff is awfully cheap...

We are doing it this year.

Is it really as bad as every says it is? I have never done it before. I'd kind of like to go this year but danimal works and I don't want to do it with three kids in tow.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I'm buying appliances, bath fixtures, and a few tools. Renovations are awesome.

I'm going for the first time tomorrow morning. I'm not excited. If I were buying a new tv or something expensive for super cheap, I'd be stoked. I'm not that stoked about going to K-Mart and Old Navy.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Mrs. D loves it. She and her mom and sister plot out their route and actually have a gameplan for each store they go to. I don't get it, personally, but she comes home with some great buys, so I don't complain.

Oh, you totally have to have a gameplan. He who hesitates is lost and all. It can actually be pretty fun - like a competition to see if you can actually snag one of everything on your list.

I have never gone. ldc isn't into it at all, I have no desire to go. I am thinking about going to Barnes & Noble tomorrow though as I forgot to bring a book to Zion with me. Will it be wild? I didn't see a big ad for Dumas/Tolstoy buy 1 get a free Grisham.

Never. Not tempting in the least.

I've never been. Gidget has before. I think she's planning on hitting up Old Navy tomorrow to get some clothes for the unborn.

                          Same.

In fact, it is the least tempting shopping day of the year for me. The times I have ventured out have been horrible...crowded parking, clothes strewn everywhere in the aisles, people rifling through piles of merch, tired kids crying, long lines at checkout, etc.

The one cool thing about it is the people watching. Tomorrow is the official start of my favorite season: holiday sweater season. For whatever reason, Mormon women all over the country will wake up tomorrow, look in their closets, and decide that it is cool to wear a puffy red sweater with snowmen and children sledding. That part of holiday shopping is pretty cool. Also, Ugg boots, esp the pink ones.
                          Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Speaking of clothing, what is up with girls thinking that it is alright to wear ratty sweats and tuck them in to there Ugg boots? Horrible fashion trend that I hope starts and stops in Utah and is not nationwide.

Is there anything more flattering than covering half your legs with fur-trimmed, pastel-colored, faux-suede pillows? I think not.
