Would you prefer we look at a situation that we actually know very little about and assume the worst of our flesh and blood? My general inactivity here means I miss a lot, and the little I've seen is similar to stuff I've seen before from other people, so I'm not going to apologize for sticking up for him. Say what you will about the Viking clan, but even when we're pissed at each other, we still have the other's back.

It is one thing to say, "I am going to kick your ass!" It is quite another to say, "I am going to find out who you are in the real world, and I am going to find a way to ruin your life" whether the threat is credible or not is irrelevant. The fact is that he crossed over a line in an inexcusable way.

In isolation, the banishment seems harsh. Given his body of work, I understand the decision, even if I don't support it. CJ got away with this type of behavior, and half the board is begging for his return.

Vike was sticking up for one of his handful of allies on the board. Given that Blitzkrieg is a first-class a-hole, I'm not sure Vike should have been given the boot.

I kind of miss Vike for the entertainment value of his postings. That and I feel somewhat like family given he is from Dallas although I haven't meet any of that clan although they tend to visit the Big D now and then. It seems like every family has a "Billy Carter" or two but you have to love them anyway. (Yes, PBW, you are like family too but don't read too much into that love thing.)

All that said, it's JL's site to run, and if he and the knights of the roundtable want to boot people, I have no problem with that.

Yep, JL runs the site and, therefore, has a heavy say in the rules. Of course, if folks don't like the rules they are welcome to leave and start their own site. It is not like that hasn't happened before.

Let me just remind everyone that there is quite a bit that goes on here involving deleted posts, PMs, warnings, etc. that happens under the radar. Nobody (other than spammers) has ever been banned for a single post. In each case there was an escalating series of warnings. This case was no exception.

why are people groveling for them to come back? they thought the masses were undeserving of their vastly overrated contributions and stopped posting. they haven't stopped visiting, however, and still log in to consume content without adding anything. good riddance.
