Tapatalk issues and questions

Makes me think we are talking about different things. I’m not talking about load time. I’m talking about scrolling to the bottom of a thread, only to have it load older posts at the bottom so that I’m scrolling through the same posts in an endless loop.

Yip. I frequently saw that before the switch. Haven't seen it since, but haven't really been using Tapatalk as much, either.

I was trying to post a Kramer "Giddy up" gif earlier today. I gave up and just went with "Giddy up!" instead. Which is probably better for the site's bandwidth, anyway.

I'm not super familiar with Tapatalk but I poked around in the Tapatalk settings and have formed a hypothesis that performance issues may be related to ads being displayed in Tapatalk.

For those of you that use Tapatalk, are you seeing ads when you access CougarStadium?
Do you see ads when you access other forums?

Yes and Yes.

I see adds on both, but the other forum is lightning fast. CS is the opposite.

Hmm, so much for my ads hypothesis. Do do you see avatars on both? How about animated gifs and other images embedded in posts?

Whoops. Scratch that theory. Seems to be current.

It is slow for me too.

BFM, any other ideas? Rebuild the database?

Well that might explain it. I've never configured Tapatalk before so I'm clueless about it.

EDIT: Rebuilding the DB is a possibility but it's not my first instinct as if the DB was slow and had stale indexes it would be slow for browsers as well.

My instinct is to test a hypothesis about displaying avatars and images to tapatalk (i.e. disable them) and see if that has any impact.

OK, I just did a full delete-uninstall of the plug-in and reinstalled it. Let me know how it is working.

The Timeline (which was the primary issue earlier today) loaded a lot quicker when I tested it just now. Not instantaneous, but not terrible, either.
