You have misunderstood my enthusiasm. It is much more for taking pictures that I find funny. The only time I have ever had guns in my house was for 2 days that I borrowed them from my BIL for a young men's activity.

So I am afraid that the answer to my question is that I thought Full Metal Jacket was a great movie that reaches such a dramatic apex when Private Pyle kills himself, that I always have a hard time focusing on the rest of the movie even though I have seen it 4-5 times.

So for two reasons I would have never noticed the firearm in question, A) I usually stop paying that close of attention to the movie by that point, 2. I wouldn't have known the difference by simple sight.

I feel bad for forcing the subject matter of the question as I would have probably enjoyed reading about some conflict in Madagascar in the 1700s. My loss.

Maybe the seeming incongruity with the sniper's close range/long range accuracy was really a symbolic point Stanley Kubrick was trying to make.

Pretty sure he married into it, and I agree, it is damn near perfect.

I just read it this morning. The standard edition is known as Genus 1, or Genus I (I can't tell in the pronunciation). Although it is simply called the Genus edition.

I already knew you were not good enough to finish the Genus edition in one turn, so no need for an admission.

I played Trivial Pursuit with a guy at BYU that was all cocky going into the game until I cleaned his clock. Fast forward 10 years and he's on Jeopardy. During Final Jeopardy, he inexplicably bets all but $1 and ends up losing by $1. Back then (maybe it's still the case) if you tie you also win and come back the next day.

My brother's approach was to answer "Marilyn Monroe" to every Entertainment question from the Genus edition. He actually got a surprising number correct.

                      ha.

I had a roommate that hated playing Trivial Pursuit. He had a similar strategy, but he didn't limit it to one category.

His answer: "Lew Alcindor's left breast."

Sometimes his answer was fairly comical, given the subject matter or the wording of the question.

Whenever I see Kareem, I think of Lew Alcindor's left breast.

One of my all time favorite sports moments was watching a OSU-UO game at the Pit when the Beavers had Gary Payton. The Ducks weren't that great but the students were on Payton like crazy. He talked, swore, yelled and dropped like 40 points on the Ducks. One of the great basketball moments I have ever witnessed live.

I don't think there is anyway the new gym will capture the same emotion and raw emotion as MAC court. I will miss the pit.
