I have been informed that the oximoronically monikered AtheistCoug is not a dupe.

If that is the case, I would suggest that -- seeing as how he has found elements of CUF that resonate with him, and that he has found a set of CUFfers that grok his background -- he not allow the others to run him off. CUF will always have a mean streak, owing largely to the fact that its residents take very personally their sports, politics, and religion (largely in that order). A CUFfer shouldn't let that streak keep him from enjoying whatever benefits he derives from the rest of the discourse.

As a wise man once said, that's all I have to say about that.

My apostasy was a really long process, which I assume contributed to my not taking more than 6-12 months to mellow out about it. Of course, my presence on this forum will serve as evidence to some that I haven't mellowed out. If the "new posts" button weren't the best way to view this forum I might consider just staying out of the foyer.

I'll be the first to say that the average "internet atheist" is an asshole, because the reason they're on the internet talking about religion is because they're bitter and feel betrayed and lied to. That's why I tend to avoid atheist forums and other places where they congregate. CUF comprises some pretty smart folks talking about various things, so it doesn't seem weird for me to occasionally engage in those issues, but I recognize that many here don't appreciate it, especially on the occasions that I don't keep everything very civil.

I don't think either I or AC have ever stooped to CJ's level though.

It takes victims longer, much longer than you.

You need to know where to strike back. Point out that Dan Marino TD record is no more, so in addition to no Super Bowls, he has no untouchable stats.

Or talk about how Will Clark thinks CJ was an ugly kid.

Atheistcoug, you've grown on me slightly, and I was looking forward to watching you become more comfortable in your unbelief. Either way, I wish you well.
Thanks. I guess that is probably the better approach. Somethings just aren't cool, and though I may have over-reacted, that is twice now that people have attributed the demise of my children's family to my board persona. That is beyond uncool and should be completely unacceptable.

In the end, though I suppose I shouldn't let it bother me. It does though. I invite anyone else whose wife cheated on them for years and with dozens of guys and gals to not be affected when told it was your fault. Its hard enough to accept what blame I do own, and yes it is still raw.

One of the first rules of internet messageboards is not giving up info that people can use to bludgeon you with -- unless you are willing to take the beating because the beating will inevitably come. Once stuff is out of the bag it's impossible to put it back in.

I'm not condoning or excusing; it is what it is.
