Definitely football. Mostly those two as far as BYU sports. I've given up on most professional sports and besides, I don't have the time to follow the NFL, NBA, and college sports. And when college football and basketball come around, I watch more than just BYU. I'm a big fan of college football and basketball in general.

As for hobbies, I like to read sci-fi and fantasy (currently listening to Wheel of Time for the second time and reading The Death Gate Cycle for the second time), play board games (Terraforming Mars is my current favorite), and I play way more video games than I should (currently playing Heroes of the Storm - a MOBA, and NCAA 14).

Just to clarify, I haven't really used cougarboard. CougarCorner has been my home for a while. I can't stand the layout to CB even if it does have the most traffic and discussions for Cougar fans. Like seriously, CB has the worst layout, design, and functionality in the history of the Internet. CougarCorner is much more similar to what I see here. I know the owner personally and there used to be great discussions there. Now, even during football season, you're lucky to see more than two posts a week there. I've also tried a Facebook group for BYU fans and, meh. I'm going to give CougarStadium a try and hope to add to the discussions. I'm not afraid to voice a different opinion and I keep an open mind to other's opinions as well. I love discussions with different opinions as long as everyone is civil.

I have never heard of CougarCorner.

If you don't like CB, you will fit right in here.

I haven't heard of Cougar Corner. But I think my BYU message board career started with the message board affiliated with the Daily Herald (CougarBlue?). That wasn't very fast paced, so I eventually found CB, then CG, then CUF/CS.

My recollection was that CougarBlue had a decent amount of traffic - until they put it behind a paywall. In addition to CB, I also frequented CougarFan for a while. Wasn't aware of CG's existence until I came around here.

I loved that series when I was a teenager. I confess I'm not sure I finished it though. How does it hold up?

Yeah, I also started at CougarBlue, and then I was recruited over to CougarCorner, and I really loved it there for a while. I do believe that CougarBlue had a decent amount of traffic, but it also had lots of ads and lots of spam and lots of uncensored trolls.

Yeah, I loved it as a teenager. It's a 7 book series and I just finished the first one again today and the second book arrived today. I'm really liking it. I only vaguely remember the basic plot, so it's almost like reading it for the first time. It's very different from the Wheel of Time, but I am enjoying it and I think it holds up just fine.

I recently started reading it again after a long hiatus. Devoured Sanderson for a while but got disillusioned with the weight of it all. Never read the Wheel of Time because it looked too daunting. The Wheel of Time books definitely can be daunting and as much as I like them, they're not without their flaws. It's 14 huge books and during all that only 2 years of time passes for the characters. There is a LOT of detail. Robert Jordan could go on for pages and pages explaining a hill. The plot moves extremely slowly and there a ton of characters to keep track of it. Yet, I keep coming back to it. What has helped me is to listen to the audido books, especially during my daily work commute (when I was commuting). And if you are a fan of fantasy, you really should check out the Death Gate Cycle. It's extremely underrated IMO.

I think I was late to the game. I definitely wasn't posting behind a paywall, but I seem to remember some discussion about there being two sites. So I probably joined up after it had gone paywall and they kept a portion public (CougarBlueII, maybe?) Also, I realize I missed a step in my message board history. My first experience with message boards was FireCrowton.com, which eventually was bought by a Ute fan and changed to KeepCrowton.com. That's where I got my first taste of message board banter, and eventually that led me to CougarBlue, which led to CougarBoard.
