I actually have DOA in my mp3 collection. (was a classic memory for a 12 year old) However I prefer the happy suicide songs, like "Alone Again (Naturally)."Originally posted by Scott R Nelson View PostZager and Evans is on my "do not like" list. Although I've finally reached the point where I can actually listen to it every once in a while without holding my ears and screaming.
D.O.A. by Bloodrock from 1971 is on the list.
Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger is there too, although he had at least one other song that I happen to like: Ramblin' Gamblin' Man.
I don't try to make sense out of senseless lyrics (e.g., Blinded By the Light, I Am...I Said, Etc.) I just try to enjoy the tunes.

I too left Utah, but ended up in Oregon. Our last trip to Utah was with the idea that we might retire there to be closer to our children/future grandchildren. We were driving north on I-15 going past AF, and my sweet little wife says, "Sorry honey, there's no way in hell that I'm going to live in this miserable place." I agreed. We might end up with a condo, but we're not going to abandon our two favorite places Cannon Beach, and Forest Hills.
Maybe using your "real name" will start a trend where people will be themselves and have to act appropriately in social settings. I'm betting your contributions will be above average.

Why don't you keep you keep your petty arguments to yourself.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostThat's ironic coming from a guy who likes all the time to drop dark hints that he knows not only who you are but also all your family and acquaintances.
This reminds me. A guy on Utefans (I won't say who but he has two brothers who post here) pmed me the other day and said he was going to tell my father and uncle about SeattleUte and he bet they wouldn't like my "attitude about things". That earned him an lol. I didn't think he was capable of such whimsy. He's normally a dork who takes himself too seriously."Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. I accept all forms of introductions, but am particularly pleased when someone chooses to mimic me.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostHa! Scott (whom I commend for not hiding behind some bogus moniker based on locale) and I are in the same ward. His introduction to this site came from a Gospel Doctrine lesson I was teaching (the usual philosophies of men mingled with scripture). Scott's a good guy, although I have mixed feelings about his presence here as he will see, if he hasn't already, that the occasional insight or deep thought I may present to the class is usually stolen from Pelagius, KatyLied or the rest of the rabble here.
Scott, your intro was thorough, interesting and well-written, but it did not follow the Pellegrino-approved template. And may wuapinmon have mercy on your soul.
Welcome Scott, you have a fine name. I've never known anyone named Scott that I didn't like. May we call you Scottie on occasion?Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Looks like I already missed an item on the big pet peeves list that I just posted - people using nicknames for me when I totally hate nicknames. I even chose names for all of my kids that didn't have any known nicknames.

This is really sad. When you let the haters limit the name choices you would consider for your children, you have let the terrorists win. Plus Harold Cox Nelson would have been an awesome name for a son.Originally posted by Scott R Nelson View PostOnly if you want to make me angry.

I will say this once only, since the fallen cannot speak here. There's no way in hell that anyone in their right mind would've gone and met Rocky at the Red Iguana or any other restaurant. The dude was threatening, mean, and unstable.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostIt's ok that you wussed out. No biggie.
