Welcome, clackamas. Sorry about the smell; personally I enjoy the heady scent of Ben-Gay. And one tip we give to all newbs: use the title line only when you're starting a new thread. Posts within a thread don't need a title line, no one reads them, they're disruptive, and they remind us of exUte/Hallelujah, which is not a good look.

Failure to observe this protocol causes the same irritation as posts on CB or Utefans which do NOT include a new title line, giving the reader no hint of whether it's worth clicking on the post. Since the entire post is always visible here, a title line is surplusage. This will be on the mid-term. Again, welcome aboard!

        Welcome clackamas.

Judging by the ages of your kids, you and I are about the same age I would guess. Good to have you here.

            More About Me...

I turned 50 this past year, and am now considered a "senior golfer." I try to play 2 to 3 times a week, and carry a 7. I like to play in local USGA/OGA events with some of the better local LDS golfers. I build my own clubs, and have developed my own "secret recipe" of good shafts and heads. I build clubs and keep the good ones and give the others to my sons, and friends. Just this week I built a putter out of a R7 head with a Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue Hybrid Shaft. I painted the head in a funky white/lime green. Looks pretty cool.

I'm an avid TV/Sports watcher. In my home office, I have the normal office equipment, but I also have a leather recliner and a 40" Vizio 120/hz 6 feet away. I'm a Comcast DVR guy. I'm Comcast because of CSN which has every Blazer game on HDTV. Home/Away. My ward/golf/cpa buddy has season tickets 14 rows up, but I prefer the games at home.

Married 25 years - My wife is not my best friend. However, I'm a better man for having married her. We have a daughter with Down Syndrome/Autism and she is the light in my life. For those of you that understand, thanks.

I'm a big thinker, and know the Church is true, but also believes that we probably only know about 5% of how and where the Lord operates. I think things will be much more interesting in the hereafter that we can imagine. I'm not at all hung up with others and their divergent ways.

Hey, me too! I also carry a 5, 6, 8, 9, P, SW... well, you know, all of the standard clubs.

But anyway, welcome to the site.

Do I have to point out everything to you Wuap? The question is obviously, what is the the secret recipe for good shafts and heads.

I'm guessing you had some particularly awkward interviews tonight.

Well, a little lubricant does wonders on a shaft, it makes your hand slide down it much better than when it's dry. A nice rigid shaft, with a little flexibility in it is perfect for when you need the head to come into clean contact with your ball. You don't want to putter around in the rough, you want to sink it in and let the head guide your ball close to the hole. Once you're almost there, you widen your stance, and finish the job, always hoping, secretly, that your ball play is above par, not below.
