What's alarming is the amount of interest paid on the borrowed $88 billion :yikes:"What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

"Obamacare" isn't going anywhere. Why hasn't there been a replacement even proposed by Republicans? (I've been predicting this for three years.) It's as republican as solving the health care problem gets--private markets, state regulation, choice of plan and provider. It's not going to get better than this. Republicans need to stop trying to kill it or they'll deliver themselves to single payor. I've always admired the Affordable Care Act. Attacking the ACA also helped cost Republicans the House majority, and there will be hell to pay in 2020--especially as they have no other solution. Republicans need to stop being stupid and outflank Bernie Sanders by embracing the Affordable Care Act.When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Biden is going to bring back the Obamacare tax...
Biden Vows To Reinstate Obamacare’s Individual Mandate
Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden revealed Friday he would reinstate the individual mandate and penalize Americans who do not obtain health care coverage if he were to win the presidency.
“I think there should be health care for everyone. I have a plan how to do that that’s rational, that’ll cost a hell of a lot less and will work,” Biden told CNN’s Chris Cuomo during an interview.
Biden put forth that as a way to guarantee that all Americans receive health care coverage, the federal government would fine any individual who did not obtain sufficient health insurance.
The mandate was initially part of the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act, more commonly referred to as Obamacare. As a way to bypass the unconstitutional requirement to force Americans to purchase insurance, the individual mandate was categorized as an income-based tax levy.
“Yes, yes, I’d bring back the individual mandate,” Biden replied when Cuomo inquired further about the unpopular penalty.

Maybe not the best thread for this, but what is going on up in BYU-I???
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/24/u...ham-young.html
Admin says they’re not accepting Medicaid as student health insurance, claiming (bizarrely) that the influx would inundate the local health providers. University-run policy is of course more expensive, pricing out the woman highlighted in the article. It doesn’t comply with ACA, which BYU was able to get exempted from.
Provo and Hawaii both allow Medicaid. Maybe exposure from a NYT article will be the needed pressure to comply like the rest of BYU."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
