I don't know much about Beau Burton and Lucky Radley, aren't they both speedsters? I wonder if Vakapuna will see some time as more of a power back complement to smaller and quicker RBs. I also hope that they go after a JC power running back.

I am happy not to see Manis here. I think our LB corps will be stronger next year.

And I really (selfishly) hope that Burton has a sentimental need to finish a degree before an NFL career.

Vakapuna will get some time. He seems more of a situational back than an every down guy. I think Burton has a chance to be similar to Eddie Wide, given the opportunity to carry the ball.

RB was the toughest because with the loss of Shakerin, we are pushing to get 3-4 Backs in recruiting, including possibly a JC guy. Without any commits(that may see the field in 2011), I had to go with who we have on roster right now.

Burton may stay, but if he grades out 25-50 on the big board, he is gone.

LB is a tricky one as well as Whittingham said they may look at Blechen at OLB, as well as Bird, who saw time as OLB in passing downs against SDSU and BYU.

I want to see a JC spread type back. Last time I checked, that is the type of offense Utah is trying to run. We haven't had a spread type running back or quarterback to run the spread how it is supposed to be run the past couple of years. I guess Beau Burton and Lucky Radley are probably those types of backs.

I will say the same thing about Beau Burton that I said about Uona Kaveinga, he is transfer and there is a reason why he transfered and it probably has to do with the fact he wasn't going to see the field where he was at.

Beau Burton is the dude that came from UCLA right?

I think we will see a lot of Asiata and Vakapuna in the backfield.

No Burton was recruited out of AZ. He is a RS Freshman

I hope we do but everything I am hearing is he has Cali schools at the top of his list. I still think Utah has a really good shot at him but from a couple of friends I have that are close to the Bingham program, they are saying he wants to play in Cali and this includes a couple of schools in that state.

I would wait until the ink is dry before counting on Langi. I read that he is an early enrollee, so he should be making a decision in the next 2 weeks I would guess.

Who is the RB transfer from UCLA then? Just throw away my comparison to Kaveinga then.

I can't remember the name, but I don't think he made it here.

                            I like it!

                            Couple things:

Those WR make my nipples hard. The first string you've got listed will all be JRs next year, I think, and the speed is just awesome. Of that group, DVC's got the best chance of really filling the measure of his creation. Gots to keep going, but he can be elite. Dunn's got speed on the outside we ain't seen since Cliff Russell. Also, Ken Scott would have had an impact this year. Other than DVC, he's the guy I'm most excited about.

Running back is, uh, an area of, uh, need.

I don't know how Stevens will be at C. I know he was alright when he filled in for the Gorilla this year, but he's never really been just fabulous at G. Solid is the ceiling. I don't know who Po'u Palelei is, but guys with that kind of vowel to consonant ratio belong on the football field.

DL - Is it cold in here? I also like Joe Kruger to be in the mix outside. I mean, he's a freaking Kruger!

LB is fine, but I do like the idea of moving Blechen up where you've got Walker if he can put some weight on that sexy, svelte frame. We need guys from LB who can get after the QB, and Blechen can get after the QB. Reports about Jacoby Hale are, in a word, GLOWING, so we'll see if he can make some noise. I like those LBs quite a bit. No walk on punters or converted QBs.

Reggie Topps has a thrilling name. Also, when he subbed for Burton at SDSU, he didn't get the Arnold Parker Memorial TAKE ME DEEP!! sign placed on his back, so that's something. Words cannot express how much Keith McGill needs to be who everybody thinks he is. If Utah had who everybody thinks Keith McGill is on the 2010 team, every single player in the back 7 would have been impacted. Word is USC and Oregon are starting to sniff around. Hope he sticks, and hope he's Keith Freaking McGill!

QB - Jordan Wynn is the guy. No need to get hot and bothered hoping for some open competition or something. Wynn is the guy, and that's were that is.

2011 Motto: Our QB is Jordan Wynn, and with him we sink or swim.

                            Or perhaps suck.
