Aiono hasn't sniffed the field since Star starting taking all of his time around the ISU game. Plus, we only lost one interior DL to graduation and that was Neil A'asa. Aiono will need to improve dramatically to see meaningful time next year.

I am geeked about this kid. I haven't seen the kid play in person but I have a few friends that are High School football coaches in Utah and they know the game and they say this kid is the best player/athlete in the state.

        Or perhaps suck.
I agree. What can he do in the off-season to improve? Fire walking? Hypnotism? Meditation?

It seemed to me that his struggles vs. TCU, ND and BYU seemed to be mental.

        Am I correct?

The playoff highlights shown on the local news were pretty impressive. I wasn't aware that he had committed, but I remember thinking that we needed to get him for next year and Smithson Jr. the year after that.

Would this be the right kind of athlete to put about 25-30 lbs on and put at DE? I may be wrong, but it sure seems like the Utes needed a guy like Koa Misi this year and perhaps this kid could be that type of player.

I guess Beau Burton and Lucky Radley are probably those types of backs.

I will say the same thing about Beau Burton that I said about Uona Kaveinga, he is transfer and there is a reason why he transfered and it probably has to do with the fact he wasn't going to see the field where he was at.

Beau Burton is the dude that came from UCLA right?
JC players rarely work out. Good luck with that!

With the lose of Shak, they are desperate to fill the void at RB. And you are correct, only about 1 out of 3 work out.

Didn't BYU recruit a bunch of JC non-Mo DBs recently?

This is kind a little joke the board has directed towards me. Let's just say I always try to set the expectations for people when they get a little hyped up about a J.C. kid.

Look at you... always comparing your program to BYU. Speaks volumes.

BYU seems to be doing alright finding JC corners. But HL is right JC kids are usually a mixed bag.

Have him throw passes while coaches, players, throw punching bags, tackling dummies, and batteries at him.

Do it until he stops flinching.

Interesting that you say this. Mark Brunell who is the backup for the Jets, said that Mark Sanchez used to get happy feet and was scared to get hit. So he made Sanchez stand in the pocket while people attacked him over and over again with tackling dummies, punching bags, bean bags, some guys even fired footballs at him. Sanchez says he was bruised and battered but it toughened him up and helped him to stand in the pocket and not take off.
