  • TCU to Big East

Set to join in 2012-13 in all sports according to multiple reports. Thought I'd post it since there hasn't been any other mention of it. Welcome to the WAC Boise, Fresno, and Nevada. With their departure I have to believe that this bodes well for Utah State. And the WAC is finished if Hawaii and USU bolt.

Also, what the hell is the Big East going to do with basketball now? I have to imagine that there is going to be some sort of split now. There have been rumblings about contraction for awhile.

What's your source? Or are you still going off the rumors that have been floating around for the last few weeks?

ESPN, Orlando Sentinel (UCF waiting for an invite too), NY Daily News, and AOL Fanhouse.

They should call themselves the WAC. It's a better name than MWC.

Wow, according to ESPN the 10th team they invited was Villanova for football. They are not even D-1 are they?

I always thought the MWC schools should have fought to keep the WAC name, it already had a branding associated with it and MWC never took.

This was rumored a while ago, Nova is a legit FCS team and I assume them seeing that UConn is a game away from the BCS with not much time in D1 has them thinking they can make the transition well themselves.

This is what drives me crazy about the BCS. First UCONN and now Nova. Yeah, they both are BCS worthy football programs.

Don't forget USF. They were 1AA until 2001.
