Twitter-verse is reporting that Chambers has been kicked off the football team. Anybody got anything concrete?!?

While it's a disappointment, it isn't like he has provided much if true. You never like seeing kids leave (especially AA at the Y) but O'Neill has been a bit of a disappointment in my eyes on the field.

I doubt it ever will. I think the atmosphere is the biggest reason BYU continues to lose the Michael Lloyds and the Oneil Chambers. Here is hoping that Jordan Johnson and Cody Hoffman can make it! Mike Reed did, but I also think the suckitude can lead to that atmosphere being even more untolerable.

Margin Hooks made it all four years and it took him about a month after his last game to start trashing on Provo and the suffocating culture.

What do most athletes do at other schools to get over a loss? They may be going for some Cougar Tail, just a different scoop than you'll get at the Creamery on 9th in Provo.

Which sucks shit IMO. It doesn't surprise me in the least though. I'm still fond of sharing a not-so-great date I once went on with an Orem girl while I attended BYU. 20 minutes into our first date she told me that AA people smelled like wet wood. After promptly asking her if she was in fact serious and getting the expected resonse I laughed in her face and abruptly took her home but I never doubted that this kind of ignorance and lunacy was prevalent in Utah Valley. Maybe it will take a few more generations for 1978 to sound like a million years ago. Maybe by that time the "suckitude" will have caught up to the bretheren and BYU will long since have changed to Flag Football University.

I'd never heard that but I guess my foray into the online world of sports fanaticism hadn't taken hold yet. He is and always will be a favorite of mine though. He wasn't great but I have fond memories of his abilities.
