  • The Shield is flat out awesome

I just watched last night's episode....leading up to the Series Finale next week....the last few episodes have been the best I've ever watched on TV.

Riveting, hard hitting, fantastic writing and unbelieveable acting especially with Michael Chiklis playing Mackey and Walton Goggins in his role as Shayne....

Just wow.....rumor is next weeks Series Finale is supposed to be a Bloodbath and I've not been this excited to see how things up more than any series I've ever watched.

Tonights episode,,,I mean wow....I'm still speechless.

    Great stuff.

Personally I think Vic is going to end up putting a gun in his own mouth and pulling the trigger. Suicide.

Huge fan. This season has been awesome. I have no idea how it'll end, but it should be fun.

I've watched every episode of The Shield since it started. Awesome show -- probably the best TV show ever in its genre, actually.

I'm about 5 episodes behind this season so I'm excited to catch up.

Great line, along with "I've done worse." I'm caught up now -- can't wait for the finale on Tuesday.

              CCH Pounder plays Claudette.

The scene where she finds out they've missed out on Vic and see him in the room confessing all of his sins after he's signed his immunity document is one of the more powerful I've scene.

To know she was just minutes away from finally getting her man only to find out he's been granted full immunity and then to go crazy on Dutch out in the hallway afterwards, and break down and cry after Dutch tells her..."This isn't you."

I agree. Great scene. I think that's a realistic response, to be so upset that she lashes out at whoever she can and Dutch happens to be in the way.

Great TV. I can't wait for the finale.

Just watched it last night. wow is right.

I think Shane kills his own family. OD is my guess.

He plays crank head white trash crazy well.

This final season has blown Soprano's out of the water. I can't wait for tomorrow night.

I wish Sons of Anarchy was on HBO. It is good, but could be great.

                    That was awesome...

I think it should have gone 2 hours. I would have liked to see a wrap up with the serial killer kid.

I liked the little video montage at the end of it. I really liked this series from the beginning. I am going to put the whole thing on the Christmas list.

                    Mackey is shrewed.

The acting on that show is superb. Ronnie flipping out last night and losing it was great.

Shane freaking out on the payphone was probably emmy award winning material right there. His portrayal of strung out hoplessness the last 2 episodes were awesome.

Going to miss the show for sure. Its ending didn't disappoint. Unlike the Soprano's.

Can't wait for Sons of Anarchy tonight. That one should be awesome.

That was really well done. You could really feel the desperation. Along with what Forrest Whitaker did on earlier seasons this really was pretty good TV. My only question would be what side was Vic on when he left that building?

Yep, that was awesome. The last scene was my favorite. After contemplating the wreckage he left behind, you see Vic almost ready to break there for a second, then it's like "nope, f*** that, I'm Vic f****ng Mackey, where's my gun". Damn, he's a cold sonofabitch.

Exactly. And I think the reason we all root for someone like that is because we want to believe that we all have a little bit of that in us.

It was great drama. You could see him contemplate suicide...and then he just clicked.

I felt he was thinking..."Heh. I am better than you Shane." With that smile. Great way to end it.

                            Great ending and great finale.

The director last night knew the perfect moments when to keep things silent....those long uncomfortable stretches where not only are the characters thinking..."Damn......" but so is the audience.

The scene where they discover Shanes body and then his wife and sons body is just gut wrenching.....just long emissions of silence....

Same thing after Claudette lets Mackay have it at the end,,,,,and he just sits there stewing....silently stewing before he rips the interrogation camera out of the wall.....

The looks on his face when the Blonde Supervisor at ICE informs him his job is a desk job and that it's strictly..."Suit and tie here, so go home and change during your lunch hour" and then see Mackay actually in a suit and tie was actually a jarring scene,,,because he's now officially been castrated of any shred of dignity he had left.

Yes, excellent use of silence. I found myself holding my breath during these scenes.
