  • About Jane Austen...

"I haven't any right to criticise books, and I don't do it except when I hate them. I often want to criticise Jane Austen, but her books madden me so that I can't conceal my frenzy from the reader; and therefore I have to stop every time I begin. Everytime I read 'Pride and Prejudice' I want to dig her up and beat her over the skull with her own shin-bone." - Mark Twain
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I think I will put the Pride and Prejudice DVD into my laptop and watch in the background while I grade student projects ... great idea, thanks il Pad!

Wishful thinking ... but we both know who YOhio's heart belongs to!

Ever been hit in the face by a hardbound dictionary?

If what I have hitherto said can appear to you in the form of encouragement, I know not how to express my refusal in such a way as to convince you of its being one.
