  • How many wins would Utah have?

Say that the PAC-16 thing happens, and they break it up into two 8-team divisions as most people suspect:

    West
    USC
    UCLA
    Cal
    Stanford
    Oregon
    Oregon State
    Washington
    Washington State

    South
    Texas
    Texas Tech
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State
    Arizona
    Arizona State
    Utah
    Colorado

How many wins do you think the Utes could realistically average, in their division (no crossover games) over the first 5 years?

Non considering non-conference games, right? So 8 total conference games?

8 teams in your division, you play the other 7 once, so 7 games.

MRD is suggesting that the Utes defeat all 7 divisional teams, plus USC and Oregon. The teams will play cross-division teams per year.

The question was just in their division. So 7 games.

I say Utah wins on average 4 games in that division per year. Coupled with probably 1 win on average in the crossover game and then 3 wins in non conference, that is 8 wins and the Holiday bowl. On average.

Yeah, but without knowing how that crossover game is configured, I was just focusing on the division.

Plus, I assume we'd start scheduling like the big boys for non conference games. I've always wanted to play Western Kentucky, then maybe we could beat a team from Kentucky. :excited:

I thought he was talking wins for the season.

We beat Louisville in 2007 and 2008. They are from Kentucky.

They don't have "Kentucky" in their name. Doesn't count.

EDIT: Just noticed your avatar. Nice!

You could open against Utah State. That's what we do every year.

Yeah, I assume we keep USU and BYU on the schedule. Or maybe we just keep the Utah/BYU game, and move it to Logan.

No way. The Holy War would be over.
