I doubt people threw beer at them.

But they probably felt physically threatened by a few out of control Ute fans.

One of the Halls probably had a non-alcoholic beverage spilled on him/her.

I'm confident Max actually understated the severity of the attacks on his family in the hope of dialing down the escalating tensions.

I not only believe, I KNOW it is true.

With every fiber of my being.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The whole question of whether or not it cold have been beer is very amusing to me. Like it matters. Oh, sure, it might matter in terms of making SU and ilk feel good about their criticism of BYU fans as insular inbreeds who have never seen life outside of happy valley, but does it matter in terms of the severity of abuse Max's family endured? What if it was sprite? OR coke? is that really any better? I don't really care if it is beer or soda, if someone is throwing ot on my family it is going to piss me of.
              PLesa excuse the tpyos.

You know beer throwing does not have to happen in the stadium. Some year I am going to go up to RES after the game with a beer hose and deluge the Ute fans after they leave the game. That ought to be fun.

RED HERRING. I know of no evidence they had anything thrown or spit at them or any physical abuse. I'm sure there are eye witnesses and no one has reported seeing anything of the kind. It looks like Max is lying, it's that simple.

Also, I'm sure his family felt really bad after the game. I'm sure the heckling didn't help. Does it surprise you that a huge group of people wearing Max Hall jerseys would get some heckling at a football game. What do you think RES is? Ballet West?

I had a husband on the team last year. I sat right behind the Halls. Trust me when I tell you that all of these things were happening. I had young kids offer and throw a beer can at us even before entering the stadium. They did remove Ute fans by us, some were arrested. I was pushed around at half time because I was wearing a BYU jersey. The fans near us knew dang well we were family of players. They did everything they could to us and were more interested in us than the game. I will never go back to RES ever again to watch a game. Someone needs to do a better job of keeping those fans from doing the things they do.
Utah has an awesome football team and program. However, they do need to do something about the fans. I think his apology was great and was very sincere.

Look around you, SU. We're ALL anonymous here.

Or are you saying the guy who posted it was lying?

Like I said before, I'll believe Max over anonymous Ute fans on the internet who say it never happened.
