    1. I can nearly guarantee you that if BYU goes undefeated the rest of the season AND Boise State loses, BYU will be in the BCS. It's almost a certainty. They only have to go to to #12. And they only have to go to #16 if a BCS conf champ drops below that, which is very possible with the Big East.

    2. I don't care if it's POSSIBLE, I still don't want to hear people talking about it the week after we get our butts handed to us at home by a non top 10 team.

You broke point #2 with point #1

      True. Crap.

But I thought the conversation could be squelched a little by point #1, so at least we didn't have to talk about whether or not it was a still a possiblity.

Even if Boise doesn't lose and the Y reaches #12, perhaps we can have weeks and weeks of proclamations that the Y will be selected as an at-large because it has so much national respect and a worldwide fan base. Those conversations are always a peach.

          OK...
In return let's stop talking about whether our defense is bad or good, or whether there were 29 or 30 fixable mistakes, or whether it's just athletes.

Cmon, jay. It's a sports message board. That's what overpaid fans with too much time on their hands do.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

OK then. The reason BYU doesn't make the BCS this year is NOT because the top conferences want to hog the $, because voters are anti-Mormon, because NCAA football is inherently unfair, because ESPN is punishing us for the MTN contract, or because of east coast bias. The reason BYU doesn't make the BCS this year is that we will lose at least one more game.

Hope not. (And I don't think you know this anymore than you know that FSU's not a top 10 team--it's way too early to make defnitive calls in either direction).

According to Jeff Sagarin, they're #2.
