Are BYU fans really that much worse than your average college football fan?

I have never attended a game in another stadium, so I don't know, but it seems like Cougar fans are complete morons compared to those who root for other teams.

Absolutely YES!!! I love that every shot of the fans at BYU games is of children in the front row of a section dressed in skittle colors unaware that a football game is even happening. Blue hairs wearing 20 year old t-shirts and clamoring for holding calls, guys continuously texting and ignoring the game wearing their green or pink A&F shirts...it's embarrassing and you can't ignore it. Our legacy members continue to take all of their seats (afterall, they paid top dollar) and give them to their families to go to games and consequently it looks like a large Acitivities Day gathering rather than a D-I football game. It will never change.

Also, when the remaining 40,000 fans in the 4th quarter are singing "Heeeeey Baby!" at full volume despite being down by 25+ points something is very, very wrong. Go to the Coliseum and see if that crap would fly. I dare you to try and do knitting at a Texas game in prime seating. It's a joke and it's laughable to try and compare.

Before any Ute fan tries to declare their stadium a bastion of hope for all true fans you might want to rewatch a few of your own games first. The MUSS is sad and just as uneducated about football as is the student section at BYU games.

wow, awesome! that is going to be a great game. My brother is going to that one, but unfortunately I will not be heading up. Do you live in the Bay Area? I didn't think you lived up in those parts.

Obviously you will be rooting for the Trojans. Thanks!

Casual fans everywhere are pretty clueless.

Fair enough. I believe your analysis.

wow, how fun. that is a great rivalry game. Cal has been itching to beat SC for several seasons now and have come close. This very well could be the year. Best is going to be fun to watch in person.

I was gearing up to talk trash to you leading up to the SC/Syracuse game. After seeing a pic of you at the Oregon game, I have decided to sit quietly and let you enjoy the game!

                  What everyone else said, basically.

I've come to learn this year that the games are more about the fellow fans and the journey, rather than the result.

I watched some of the game on TV and I was surprised when I heard the crowd singing "Hey Baby" as the scoreboard read 44-21 (or something). The truth is, (and this really isn't smack) that a good number of the people there are there because it is a social event and something to do in a town that has little else going on.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I am still excited for the rest of the season.
Consider me one of those fans. And honestly, I'd rather lose to FSU than to TCU or Utah, finishing the season on a ten game win streak instead of a one game losing streak.

The most disappointing thing about Saturdays game was not that we lost but how we lost. I think we can bounce back and learn from the game. Here is to another 18 plus game home win streak!

My sentiments exactly. This is still going to be a hell of a season.
