  • The Official Kick in the Gut thread

OK folks. Today was a crappy day for most Cuffers. I am signing off early because I need time to recover from today's double BCS-ectomy. Seriously, what a horrible pathetic afternoon of sadness and depression.

I know SeattleUte will log on here eventually tonight. My guess is that he is out prowling the streets with his fellow dawgs, knocking back one libation after another, and feeling no pain. He deserves to celebrate this one. huge win for Sark and the Huskies. SC has a lot of stuff to work out, some of it perhaps not fixable this season. But the spoils go to Sark today and while it sucks to see SC blow it yet again, at least it was to a former BYU and SC good guy. SU is a tramp....but we love him! And he deserves this win.

To my fellow Ute Cuffers, sorry to see your win streak end. It was an amazing run and one that every BYU fan should envy. No trash talk from me. Today shows both Y and U fan alike that the Nov Holy War may boil down to nothing more than simple in-state pride for both teams.....and truthfully, isn't that what it is about every year, anyway? Here is to a successful run for the rest of the year (except in Provo, suckas!).

To HFN, congrats on the Duck win. HFN suffered in silence all by himself on opening night. Tonight he feasts at the table with SeattleUte while we all fight for scraps in the alley.

To Landpoke....well, Landpoke is used to this every week.

Texas seems to be winning against Texas Tech. I want JeffLebowski to suffer!....but I also love him, so I want him to be happy.

I guess today we all are reminded that college football is a cruel mistress. And as awful as today has been, and as much as I don't want to talk about it anymore today, I will be back again soon...ready to Enjoy The Ride.

Fight On, SC! Beat the Cougars! (WSU) :usc::fighton1:

    Go Cougars!

ps feel free to post in this thread from time to time following a cruel loss. It is cathartic. I will now log off and go cry somewhere in a dark room. I have an overwhelming urge to listen to "Comfortably Numb" right now....

Make way, Billy Joe McAllister....I'm jumping off the Tallahatchie Bridge tonight!
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I can't even take solace in Utah or USC losing. In fact, it sucks that we can all commiserate together. What sucks the most is that of everyone losing, f'ing Boise State won.

What I don't understand is all the hate for BSU on this site.

Boise State is the thorn in the MWC's campaign to be included in the BCS, because they split the vote so to speak. The ironic thing though is that they are exactly like BYU was in the 1980's: beating up on a WAC full of nobodies, winning votes from RUTS.

Also TCU is the only MWC team that can beat them.

I have one word that describes tonight. Embarrassment.

good night all, I've got pizza to make.

It's all good. I'm over the Ute loss. The Marist loss is another story. USD scored a TD with less than a minute in the game to beat my Red Foxes.

I'll be honest, the Utah loss was neither surprising, nor crushing. I had a good time; the Utes played basically like they have all year, and deserved to lose, but they competed; and our inexperience at QB finally manifested itself.

It is a bummer for the MWC, though.

What a brutal night. That game was just painful to watch.

My son's football team lost today 13-6. My boy threw 2 interceptions. Ouch. The first time he's been on a losing football team since mid 2007.

Then we watched the Cougs take a huge dump.

As I said to my wife on the way home, today was a massacre.

I fully expect the Bears to blow out the Steelers tomorrow. It only seems fitting.

I had a great time at the game. The seats were great, the company was wonderful and the fans around us were really nice. Beautiful evening. Too bad on the loss but there are worse things in life.

I don't feel that bad about this loss. Florida State dominated us and I don't think there is anything that could have changed that. We wouldn't beat these guys if we played them 10 more times. Tell me a month ago that we would start the season 2-1 and I would have been thrilled. For some reason, the sting of this loss pales in comparison to the joy I felt after the the Oklahoma win. I have come to realize that I am a fan of a mid-major team and should enjoy the relative success that BYU has. It's fun to sit at the adult table, but we don't belong there every week.

                      Go Cougars!

Don't say that. Pittsburgh is going to salvage the weekend for me.

The good news is that now every CUF team is finished with any pretend thoughts of dominance we can just have fun the rest of the season.

That's a good point. Now it's all about the state championship!
