  • I'm very nervous about the game

Maybe it's just my queasy gizzard (or the lunch I ate), but I've got a very uneasy feeling about the game tomorrow.

Course, I always get butterflies before every game.

I've a feeling in spite of the way our D has looked in the last 2 games, and how FSU looked against an FBS opponent last week that we're in for a shoot-out tomorrow.

That makes (at least) 3 of us. I fully expect FSU to come in hungry, and angry. They are always a tough game, especially coming off a poor performance.

The one thing that eases my mind slightly is the elevation advantage. Hopefully it helps.

I think I'm more worried about this game, becuase of what happened last year. The defense dominated some teams that turned out to really not be that good (UCLA). In the end the defense was exposed.

I do think the defense has shown a lot better though this year. This team seems to swarm to the ball a lot quicker than past years. If the Cougs win this game, my worries will be relieved until TCU.

The UCLA game last year was a break game, where every break seemed to go BYU's way. IMO, that game was a bit misleading. The defense is much much better this year, they are playing much more physical and more aggressive. They may still make some mistakes, but they have seemed to make less of them, or at least are playing more aggressively so that those mistakes are covered up.

Look, Florida State is definitely a team capable of beating BYU.

But BYU is more capable of beating FSU.

                      Go cougahs.

People say not to place too much stock in stats, but FSU does in fact rank 111th out of 120 in Pass Defense. Does BYU have a fair passing game by chance?
