I'm impressed with Jacory Harris. I don't disagree with Surfah about the "soft" ball that he throws, but he makes good decisions, sees the field and puts it on the numbers.

That TD pass last night rolling to his left where he hit the receiver in stride from about 22 yards out was beautiful. He made it look easy, but it's a pass that very few college QBs will make on a consistent basis. At about the 25 second mark:

The most impressive thing about Miami is their offensive line. Harris had all day to throw. Even in the FSU game he wasn't pressured that much. That and he's played against two poor secondaries. I really want to see Gerald McCoy and Oklahoma's front 7 against them. Harris' wide receivers were wide open too all night. He made a few throws into coverage. But most of the night the Miami receivers had 5 steps on guys. Same with the FSU game. Miami's WR's are all huge too. I think they said something last night that they were all taller than 6'2" or 6'3".

I can't disagree with any of that and the WRs are all big and can run. But until goes out and lays an egg, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I've seen enough college QBs play against bad secondaries, get a ton of time throwing to good wideouts and still look bad. His PER right now is probably over or close to, 200.

It will be interesting to see what happens with them. I thought GT was overrated. FSU seems to be also (watch them kick our ass now). Big game for VT with Nebraska coming to town. I think VT is a bit overrated. But so is Nebraska. Injuries have decimated Oklahoma. Still Miami can win these games and could easily run through the ACC and win out. They may make noise. Their problem is starting outside the top 25 and having to work all the way to the top. They'll need a lot of help.

(For the record, I also think we're overrated. But I'll run with it until the magic is gone)

Another thing with Miami, the FSU game is rivalry game. They were one incomplete pass from losing that one. Then they had a bye week giving them a few extra practices to prepare for the triple option. That was a huge advantage for them. GT cannot do anything on 3rd and long. They have zero passing game. I am not sold that they are back yet. I'll eat crow after they beat VT and OU and start to think Shannon has righted that ship.
