This thread is disappointing. I thought we were going to talk Rodgers and Hammerstein. In which case, I would say that it is better than Carousel (curse you, Gordon MacRae!) and State Fair, but nowhere near as good as The King and I, The Sound of Music, or South Pacific.Fitter. Oklahoma
o-line not so good
Backup QB not so good
Running backs very good
Receivers...ok
Dline amazing
Lbs very good
DBs pretty good
Oklahoma will be fine while Bradford is out. They don't play anyone till Miami. If Bradford comes back strong they will be top 10 and on the cusp of another disappointing performance in a BCS game. If Bradford's injury lingers they will still be top 25 but won't be BCS caliber.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Prior to the game against BYU, I hadn't paid much attention to Gerald McCoy. HOLY COW. He's the best defensive lineman in the country and it's not close. He's the best defensive lineman that I've seen in years. Next to Taylor Mays, he's probably the best defensive player overall. McCoy is a potential #1 overall pick and definitely top 5.Originally posted by Babs View PostSome of the details are off, but the gist is correct. The Sooners are 9-3 or 8-4, though they could surprised with a 10-2.
What's the latest on Gresham? Isn't he supposed to also be back within the month?
The o-line will get better. Besides Trent Williams and that weird undersized center, Oklahoma has three 4 star recruits playing the other three positions. Backing them up is Habern (4th rated center in the country 2008) and Good (3rd rated guard the same year). Obviously the Sooners aren't hurting for a lack of talent along the offensive line, but it will take a few games for these guys to gel. They'll be solid by the time Bradford comes back.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Well those P.I. calls were in the endzone, so they just go 1/2 the distance to the goal/automatic 1st down if there aren't 15 yards to work with.Originally posted by Borg View PostBut, when I was watching the FSU vs. Miami game...it was 15 yards past the line of scrimmage.
Which is it?....or, does it depend on the conference you're playing in?
I knew NFL was spot of the foul, but I thought in college it was 15 yards from the line of scrimmage....but in the BYU game?....not so??"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

I agree that the Sooners will make improvement. But what I'm really getting at is this. Call me a pessimist if you want (says the girl who thought the sooners were going to get routed by Tech last year), but I don't see Sam coming back in three weeks anywhere near his old self. It'll be last couple of games of the season before he's fully recovered, if that. I could be wrong, but that's my feeling. And that may be the difference between a 2-loss and a 4-loss season.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostThey'll be solid by the time Bradford comes back.

I don't get why he will come back at all. What is his upside? OU will not win the NC this season (most likely) and he already has a Heisman and bowl wins under his belt.Originally posted by Babs View PostI agree that the Sooners will make improvement. Doesn't PI in the endzone automatically go to the 2 yard line? Or am I confusing NFL rules with NCAA rules? I do that a lot.Originally posted by Commando View PostWell those P.I. calls were in the endzone, so they just go 1/2 the distance to the goal/automatic 1st down if there aren't 15 yards to work with.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

You may be right. But Porn Stache may surprise you. 4th rated QB coming out of high school. I think Jones can get the same w/l results in all of OU's games in September and October. OU will need Bradford healthy for that brutal November schedule (Nebraska @ Lincoln, TT @ Lubbock, aTm, and Okie State).Originally posted by Babs View PostI agree that the Sooners will make improvement. PI in college is spot of the foul to a maximum of 15 yds.Originally posted by Borg View PostLets say they go 7-5, and become unranked.
So, then....at the end of the year, does BYU get 'credit' in the strength of schedules as having beaten an #3 team?....or, do we get credit as having defeated an unranked team?
Early season polls are a double edged sword..can help or hurt you.
Also: random question about the Pass Interference penalty (hijacking my own thread!).
Seems as though when I was watching the BYU vs. OK game...if you received a pass interference penalty, it was placed at the spot of the foul.
But, when I was watching the FSU vs. Miami game...it was 15 yards past the line of scrimmage.
Which is it?....or, does it depend on the conference you're playing in?

Once again.... TAKE THE MONEY WHEN YOU CAN GET IT.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostGresham is out for the season.
Gresham was a top 15 pick if he came out last year. He will still be drafted high but I have a hard time seeing him drafted in the top 20 let a lone the first round."Take it to the Bank"
