Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Now I feel bad that we would always walk down to Pipeline (I think it was Pipeline, I haven't been to a home game in like 4 years), I probably walked right by you like a jerk.

Dude, Pizza Pipeline's breadsticks and dessert sticks were out-of-this-world good. We would go down there and buy them ourselves, in uniform. I do not fault you.

wuap, you can pull for whomever you choose in this game, and it won't matter much for the end result.

I'm thankful for the uptick in sports posts. We have a lot of intelligent football fans, and it would be a damn shame to watch them waste away in the religion forum.

Offensive linemen get little respect, zero glory, and tons of hatred if they screw up. I have divots in my forearm muscles, to this day, from the knots I got playing line...even with pads. You can run your finger up my left forearm and it will stop in the hole. I was angry with football for a long time, even while I was still playing. I'm over that now.
As an OL myself I loved it. My junior year our starting 5 were all LDS. That was a great experience (Especially when explaining to the coach that we were going to miss practice to do baptisms for the dead). I have my war wounds as well. But I loved the camaraderie of being on that unit. There was nothing like high-lowing some shit talking d-lineman. There was nothing like pulling and being the lead block and blowing up a LB or even better a poor unfortunate DB. I loved that.

I agree that knocking someone on their <redacted> who's talking <redacted> is intensely satisfying, but my team was horrible, I didn't get my dad's talent, and we played a lot of really good schools, schools that mopped the floor with us. The Qb blames the line, we tell him, "<redacted> you, throw the damn ball inside of 8 seconds and you won't get sacked," and we have to run stadiums for each time he got sacked (he didn't have to for interceptions, incompletes, or fumbles though). I clipped someone on a TD run once and, by their reactions, you would've thought I killed everyone's mom.

Now, I don't care anymore and I'm ready to come back to football. It's been a long time.

That sucks. Sorry your experience was so bad. I know plenty of other guys that share your sentiment. At least it's better than being the Uncle Rico.

When I played our HS was brand new. To break us in our first year they had us play like CIF Div 11 or 12. Basically small schools (Paraclete which gave us Curtis Brown was in our league if IIRC). Then they threw us to the wolves the next year in a ultra competitive league. But we had a chip on our shoulders and wanted to prove we could hang. It also helped that we had some genuine talent that allowed us to be competitive.

But welcome back man. The Cougars need good fans.
