I remember you saying something about your Dad's man cave a while back. You were watching golf, I think. Does he project on to the wall, or a screen? We decided to just do it on the wall, and it looks great.

They bought the "screen paint." It was expensive as hell. They projected the picture on the wall so they knew where to paint. Painted the wall. Then they took base molding, wrapped it in black fabric, and framed it. It looks sharp and the picture is unreal on it. As good as any screen and a bit cheaper.

You should post a pic sometime.
I decided against the paint because of the cost, and honestly, I don't know that it would make that much difference. My HD is only 720p, but it looks awesome on just regular flat paint. I thought about framing mine as well, but the picture stretches almost to top and bottom and both sides.

I will take one and post one. I don't know what it'd look like on just the wall. But my dad's 720p projector is awesome on this screen painted wall. He used to call me during Lakers games and ask me how big Kobe was on my TV. I'd say 3" and he'd shoot back he's 2' on mine! He thinks he's funny.
Hey that is where I am tonight. I am loving my new setup. It was hard for my wife to get me out of there in the summer, now that college football started she can forget it.

That is sweet Coach. Looks great.
I honestly don't spend as much time in mine during the summer. I'll sit down here and work but most of the time I'll just put on some music. Once football starts, I don't even mind working until early in the morning, I'll watch the game replays all night long.

A lot of the reason I am down there in the summer is it is the coldest place in the house. That plus the newness of the experience and I addicted to it for a while.
I'm jealous of you all. I have two big HD TVs, one of which is here with me in Tokyo, but no way to watch games on it. I'll watch the BYU game on Sunday morning via slingbox, but the experience will be nowhere near as good as the joy of watching a night game in a man cave. My favorite way to watch college football is night games on HD in a dark room. I'm jealous of you guys!

Sorry it's taken me so long. I actually snapped these during the BYU-OU game but just got around to uploading them now. And the quality is pretty crappy. Anyway hope this shows what my dad did in his man cave.

I can't wait to have a house with a basement so that I can have somethig like that. I have a nice setup now so I shouldn't complain. Well, except I donthave HD which right now is ridiculous. So maybe I can complain about that.

You can buy screen fabric on ebay for pretty cheap. That's what I did for my home theater in Texas. I just bought the fabric and built a frame out of 1x2 lumber. Worked great and the whole thing was like $50 or so.
