I've been told, it's more about Corp's knee, than Barkley winning the job outright. From what I've seen, Barkley is still forcing things; he threw a couple picks, granted it was against the 1st D, but they looked like they were in a vanilla coverage. He's going to have one of THE best OL in country and some pretty decent skill players, so the onus isn't on him to win games. Hopefully, he's able to manage the game and limit his TO's. If he can do that, they should do well.
To outsiders, losing so many starters from last season's D may look like the kiss of death, but I'm pretty optimistic. The only concern I have is with the DL; a few starters are out with injury, so the depth will be tested. RM Hebron Fangupo has had a fantastic camp; I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up starting early in the year. The LB corp while lacking the big names and experience is faster than last year's unit. The secondary is the strength of the D and might be one of the best in the country.
I'm headed out there this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some insight from the boys.

I'm holding you to my Tucanos. Maybe PAC will pole dance with some top sirloin again for old time sake.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostOh, I forgot to tell you.....um......I stopped making friendly bets because it is still a form of gambling. I do not know how good this kid is but if Pryor as a Freshman QB had bumps in the road and lost games I can only see the same for this kid..
If Slick Pete really is going to stick with this kid, I see at least two loses for SC.. You have Cal, and Oregon, Ohio State at Notre Dame (Highly doubt they lose this one). All of those can rattle a greenie no matter how good they are...

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted something so obscure. That was a reference to Mays' High School football days where even as a junior he looked like a NFL safety.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post

Ahhh. No, I wasn't quite so observant.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAh, I see. I thought you were simply referring to the fact that the pic I posted was taken at the Notre Dame game. Note the extremely lucky kelly green shirts with gold lettering in the background.I'm like LeBron James.

They have too many questions marks at key positions. I guess this means that Ausberry will have to step up. SC could sure use Vidal Hazelton right about now. I wish he hadn't transferred.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostPlease just make it to 7-0, at a minimum beat Cal.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I thought I saw on Sportscenter that Barkley looked sharp in Saturday's scrimmage. I just caught the tail end, so I'm not sure if it was just yesterday or if this was old news.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSC just lost Ro-Jo for 8 weeks. Broken collarbone.
They are in trouble this season. Not good.I'm like LeBron James.

1 TD and 1 INT, broke the 35% completion barrier, so that is good news. Also had a tipped pass.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI thought I saw on Sportscenter that Barkley looked sharp in Saturday's scrimmage. His INT was not in the end zone this time, either, so maybe he is learning to not press so much in the red zone.
I am still worried about Ro-Jo, but then I remembered that SC has Ausberry waiting to step up. And Brice Butler. And De'von Flournoy. I would rather have Ro-Jo, De'von and Butler have had a really good camp.
Again, where is Sipi!!!!Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
